The starting XI for this should be our best XI that we don’t expect to start against Forest.
Do we know what the illness is that players are going down with. The fact that Quansah went from OK to start to unable to continue within 30 minutes makes it sound rapid. Do our players get flu vaccines and so on?
Incidently, for those not around in the UK in the 1980s, this is the Milk Marketing Board advert that had the “Accrington Stanley… who are they?” line that caused much amusement at the draw.
The son of an ex team mate of mine is currently in the Accrington squad. Just a young lad… going to be an amazing experience for him. I hope he gets on the pitch.
The likes of Kelleher, Endo, Elliott and Nunez look certain to start.
That realistically should be a solid senior spine down the middle to beat these. No doubt we’ll have a few more senior faces either starting or coming on.
Let’s see what’s our minute management in certain positions.
It rather depends on where you are. There is no broadcaster in Germany, for example.
It will be free-to-air on ITV1 in England and Wales, STV in Scotland, and UTV in Northern Ireland.
That means it should be available on ITVx or the STV player to stream live, but this would only be available in the UK, unless you have a suitable VPN.
There is a list of legal streamers here. If you want the dodgy pirate ones, someone usually posts a link in this thread closer to the time.
I would think long and hard before naming the players we put onto the field… especially looking at it from a prospective injury viewpoint.
Not that I think Accrington Stanley are a dirty shithouse tackle type of team… but the difference in speed of play and movement from our players to theirs, due to the different league standings alone… could well mean a tackle landing, seconds after our player has released the ball…!
These AcSt guys will be gasping for air in the latter stages of the game… With no intent, a bad tackle can occur due to a lack of mobility or timing… Anyway, fingers crossed…win, no injuries and move into the 4th round
It’s also true that Refs let a lot more go due to the ‘romance of the cup’. They take a view that they have to let the smaller team rough up the bigger team so they can compete.
