PreMatch | Fulham vs Liverpool | PL Matchday 20 | Sunday January 4th 15:00h

Games coming thick and fast now. Not saying it’s a must win but would be less pressure going to Arsenal few days after this one.

Lost 3-2 at Craven Cottage and 2-2 at Anfield last season.

Expecting Kerkez, MacAllister and Gakpo to start.

Oh I can’t wait for this one. Will it be another 90 minutes of mind numbing boredom?

Thursday > Sunday is a brutal gap, but at least Fulham played today as well.

gonna stay out of commenting on football in here until i can conjure up a bit of positivity

Need 3 points because we are going to get fucked up the game after.

Feeling positive about this one, it’s a winnable game, which may be helped by Fulham’s desire to go out and win games themselves.

We owe these one from last season. UTFRM!!!

Fulham under Silva are a weird PL side that sometimes goes unnoticed and “forgotten”, in terms of focus on how they do, what they do, etc. At least that’s my impression. And it seems to suit them, going quietly about their business of currently a pretty stable PL club. Something which can change quickly if a club “falls asleep” a bit.

You may think nothing special of them, see that they lack consistency (not difficult), try to find where are their real individual threats… but then they can bloody neutralize and surprise you on their day. I think last season their 54 points was their PL record?

We went through a few of those unpleasant surprises against Silva’s sides in general and also Fulham.

Hopefully we can refresh (some players looked like they lack it, which is no surprise, even expected) as much as we can in a limited time and put in a strong, convincing performance, decisive in both boxes.

Most important match of the season!
I think this might be tough.

You can bet he will find a way to get his favorite Gakpo in.

Fulham are a decent side. If we don’t play better we will lose. We have it in us to play better, but will we? That’s what we are all waiting to see.

I know the post above is an alter-ago tongue in cheek thing, as he’s usually negative but has now gone full title to the positive, but it makes a fair point.

Fulham will fancy their chances and we might have a bit more space to take them down.

Hopefully Wirtz bounces back as he has been playing well, but today was not good.

Onto 9 games unbeaten.

Not the greatest player, but yeah the player who had the joint 2nd highest contribution this season, yeah it’s all because he is Slot’s pet favourite.

But when does he make that contribution? Is it with that oh-so-important opening goal, or when we’re 2-0 up? When we talk about an assist, is it a slight touch to the side or a through ball between three defenders? Bare statistics don’t mean anything to me. I watch the matches and see that he’s not good enough, so yes, IMHO, he’s the manager’s favourite.

Another team who seems to have our fucking number atm , but then again who hasn’t. I feel we really needed a win yesterday to go here with some confidence before going to the emirates next. A draw wouldn’t be a disaster I suppose.

If we approach our next two games like we did yesterday, we will get nothing. In fact, I fear a drubbing by Arsenal.

Zero creativity Frimpong aside. Gakpo, Kerkez and Rio occupying the same space for the last ten minutes and Chiesa trying to go outside when a pass was on…

For the next two…
Bradley and Robbo at FB.
Jones, Szoboszlai and Gravenberch.
Frimpong, Ekitike and Wirtz.
Same start as yesterday with Frimpong told to keep running outside and Szoboszlai told to get into the box more often.

Be lucky to get a draw and im dreading the one after that.

I’m not looking far ahead, just game by game.

We’ve seen us lose to Forest and PSV at home on the back of a few important or unexpected wins. Football can be a weird game.

Not surprised we didn’t manage to break down all those sides recently, with the schedule and players (un)available.

We should have enough quality to get a draw. That’s life under Slot in 2026.Hoping for a point against the mighty Fulham.

Away at Fulham. I predict win/draw/loss depends what Liverpool team shows up.
