I am not a fan of the midfield shape in possession, and I think it contributes to the defensive weaknesses. You often see them go into three different lines in a more or less vertical shape. Right there it was Mac Allister dropped in plays a pass to Gravenberch and Szoboszlai was a few yards ahead. But its all vertical and not a lot of wide movement. We do it so often that it must be a plan but I’m confused as to what the benefits of the plan are meant to be.
