PreMatch | Fulham vs Liverpool | PL Matchday 31 | Sunday April 6th 14:00h

I just noticed that the press conference for this is today at 10:15:

Presumably, Arne wanted to get this out of the way on a recovery day.

Press conference points:

  • PGMOL changing mind on last night: Arne appreciates acknowledgement and wants to move on.
  • How close to title? Many things can happen. Lots of hard games. Praise for David Moyes.
  • Trent and Gomez not back yet. Ali will be checked and in goal if passes check.
  • memory of Fulham game. Again red card missed but we played well.
  • most PL games have been tight. 12 points clear is good. Players have coped well.
  • Jota: special quality is staying calm in tight positions. Takes time to get to PL level after injury. Need run of games.
  • week gap between games: disadvantage if it disrupts rhythm. Players will have more training sessions.
  • Standard of refereeing: mistakes happen everywhere (diplomatic!) Refs criticised everywhere.
  • Curtis: adaptability is useful. Likes challenge.
  • question about attack? Sound cut out.
  • unique situation that we and Arsenal play Everton/Fulham in successive games.
  • Everyone should be fit that played yesterday.

I know there’s only a few more games left, but the players look really exhausted. Come on Red, YNWA.

will be satisfied with a draw

I suspect that it is actually the other problem now. There was a two and a half week break between games and the players have not got their rhythm back yet.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

Thank for this you missed that Bradley could be available but useful update.

Compared to their draw against us and Arsenal it was a shocking performance by Fulham against Arsenal on Tuesday.

You know what that means. They’ll play like a Top4 team against us on Sunday.

Winnable, but a draw wouldn’t be that bad. Midweek games are over now and the next couple will be West Ham (h) - must win - and Leicester (a) - must win.

If we win this one I predict us to win the league before May. April 27th @ Anfield vs Spurs.

That would be nice to wrap it up at home.

Day after my 42nd birthday

But yeah win all our games I reckon we win it that day even mathematically as Arsenal have Madrid to contend with in between that.

What’s this with expectation of other and lower teams to do equally well against everyone, especially top sides?

It’s Fulham, they’re a midtable side (which is good for them, they’re a well coached, solid side). Means they have mixed, inconsistent results.

What is odd about them beating Tottenham at home, losing narrowly at Arsenal and still potentially being a tricky opponent for us (we mostly beat these sides)? Or beating Chelsea away, then drawing at home to Bournemouth and Ipswich? It’s Fulham, it’s the PL, it’s football.

We were the champions of inconsistency in performance and results when we were crap.

Tough game on paper, then again the same could be said last season and that day turned out to be a relatively comfortable afternoon.

Kinda glad Wilson will be out of this one, he likes to turn up against us as if he has some point to prove.

Ali to come straight in, would look to bring Bradley back in if he’s fit enough and then shift Jones to the 10 position.

It is with great trepidation that I have to inform you all that I will be in Berlin for this match. The first time since early October that I’ll be in Europe.
I realise that this means that I will undoubtedly be blamed for any points dropped and, no doubt, will not be credited if we win.
Anyway, it will be nice to be in a civilised time zone for watching LFC.

If Bradley is fit, he probably starts. Though I thought Curtis played really well on Wednesday.
Diaz was busy and effective on Wednesday, so Gakpo might be content on the bench.

I doubt Everton will put in the same intensity today, though if they do they will take points off Arsenal.
Mirror that result tomorrow and we are ok.

If Mac is ok I think jones will start at right back again.
