Which has been a recurring theme even way back with Jürgen’s earlier sides whenever we haven’t done well. I think we need to give more credit to Fulham for that work (as you have done) rather than keep blaming the team for the overall performance. The individual errors though…
About time we’re seeing Slot being questioned/criticised.
That’s the second time we’ve lost in the league this season, nowhere near good enough
What rotation today would have prevented the individual errors that led to the goals.
There needs to be serious questions asked about his future
Plus Africa Cup of Nations, in Mo’s case.
I see where you are coming from, and agree to a degree, as far as getting high end replacements in, but that is a lot of turnover, to a core part of the team. I don’t know that you can let all three go, in one window, without it having a detrimental effect on the team. Sadly, Father Time is undefeated, in the world of sports, and the players, that we love to watch play, eventually fall to his reign.
Not sure what he could do with the back line bar put Bradley in there.
Fulham potentially suffering similar issues but in an opposite way. They went FA Cup then Arse then us.
We came off a derby on Wednesday, Bradley is back so I now hope he starts our remaining games if Trent isn’t available.
Do you start a back line of Jones, Quansah VVD and Tsimikas because I’d love to see the fume if that fucked up after 20 minutes.
I’d rather he manage Bradley back into the side than rush him back and he gets injured and we have to continue with Jones and Quansah at right back.
We have an 11pt lead, likelihood is we will probably need 3 wins at most.
Yes he should consider Endo more and Chiesa should be coming out there but if I’m honest there is not much I’ll fault with today.
Just watched the game, all I can think of was how ruthless Arne was in the 1st game with Jarrell, yet he lets players who were quite poor, and that’s being nice, stay on the pitch at half time.
Some poor performances 1st half and our 4 man press is being played through too easily
And he doesn’t help defensively where our left sided forwards do help a lot more
Watching Darwin, there was a couple of occasions where there was a ball on and he just wasaware of the run needed he was just stationary, just not good enough.
Not referring to the specific incident but mostly about the overall team performance.
And its not complacency as much as its being completely focused the entire game.
We had it with Klopp’s team, largely because of Hendo.
IMO there’s an issue with Szobo. It’s part leadership and part quality in the #10 role.
Their three goals were down to mistakes. We never really capitalised in the minutes after MacAllisters goal.
We had some very poor performances today.
All of the back four had bad moments. Mo looked jaded barring occasional moments. Jota looks spent.
Nunez had zero effect off the bench. Diaz, Elliot and Chiesa all added something, all played well.
To be honest, I don’t care if Nunez ever plays again. I would use Chiesa more, he offers so much more at present. We need Bradley to start the remaining games. We need Szoboszlai to regain his earlier form and we need Salah to produce more, not little cameos
Beat West Ham and reset. We should be champions but we need to focus for the remaining games. Today hasn’t done much damage. But we need to learn the lessons and improve on the lack lustre performances.
Apart from drawing defenders away leading up to our second goal something that Jota, Diaz and Dom don’t do enough.
On Virg, I would like a LCB, not just to rest Virg but to move him to the RCB.
Reason being is that if teams press us and force Virg onto his left foot he struggles and add to this that Robbo isn’t the best in possession and both keepers are right footed it affects us playing out from the back.
The other option playing out to Ibou is no better as he struggles on the ball as well.
All the above is when a team presses us.
BTW the few times I have seen Bassey play he has impressed me and he is naturally left footed.
So you are saying he never made a run to receive the ball to score
No!
Having read the bat shit crazy nonsense about Trent earlier today. My thought on Nunez is he knows he is getting sold in the summer so hes realised the worse he plays the less he will go for opening up more options. See this crazy nonsense is easy.
Yeah if only we had a proper squad of players we could be challenging for the title.
It’s not been a squad, that’s kinda my point…it’s a core group of 13-14 players. The others marginalised.
Like I said, you need a proper squad to compete on all fronts…this is why we’ve tailed off massively for the last 2 seasons, getting knocked out of competitions left, right and center. The performances in the league are nothing to right home about either, we’re all underwhelmed.
Thats got to be the best yet for comedy value.
