PreMatch | Girona vs Liverpool | CL Matchday 6 | Tuesday December 10th 17:45h

I’d expect it means that @Sweeting will be thoroughly disappointed.

More seriously though, it does seem as though Gomez is preferred to Quansah, whatever the reason may be.

The highlight of that team has surely got to be McConnell and Norris on the bench? Hopefully we can get so comfortable that the latter can come on.

As far as you know I didn’t look to see where the stadium was in Genoa

Pretty strong, hoping to wrap up the league phase today :crossed_fingers:

I’ve been to the Luigi Ferraris in Genoa. A real old-school stadium, with terrible toilets.

I believe Gomez is preferred because he has to be due

Surprised not to see more rotation here, especially Endo for Gravy, Quanseh a rare start, etc. Hope we use the 5 subs to get Endo, Q, and Harvey some minutes.

Had no idea Norris was still at the club, at his age would have thought he’d have been moved on by now.

Hopefully have this done early so we can get some more rest for Grav and Robbo in particular.

He’s not that old, he’s literally exactly the same age as Elliott.

No I mean, literally. Both born 04 April 2003. Neither of them knew a world pre-Iraq war.

I don’t think we can wrap it up tonight can we?

With a win, I think we’re pretty much guaranteed top 8 (I’m basing this on a half remembered article I read… :yum:)

I presume it’s something to do with the other teams in the top 8 playing each other which means that we will go through with a win (enough of the other challengers will drop points no matter what).

EDIT: (second edit applied because I confused the Milan teams)

These are the teams who we could potentially move out of reach of with 3 points tonight. Of these (points in brackets),

Inter (13) play Leverkusen (10) tonight. Arsenal (10) play (10) Monaco tomorrow night.

Next week, Villa (10) play Monaco (10), Leverkusen (10) play Atlético (9).

In the last week, Inter (13) play Monaco (10).

So not mathematically guaranteed.

In action tonight are:

Atalanta (11) vs Real Madrid (LOL)
Leverkusen (10) vs Inter (13)
Club Brugge (7) vs Sporting (10)
Shakhtar Donetsk (4) vs Bayern Munich (9)
Leipzig (LOL) vs Villa (10).

The best case scenario would be everyone dropping points where possible, but that would only be 6 teams dropping points, meaning there would still be two left who can catch up. I’m not sure what the tie-breaks are.

Some recognisable names in this Girona team tonight - a bit odd for a sports washer to have washed-up ex PL players.

Girona XI: Gazzaniga; Frances, Juanpe, Krejci, Blind; Van de Beek, Oriol Romeu; Miguel Gutierrez; Asprilla, Bryan Gil; Danjuma.

Subs: Pau Lopez, Lucas Garcia, Martinez, David Lopez, Stuani, Ruiz, Solis, Martin, Portu, Clua, Kim, Jastin Garcia.

Just back from Münster in time. Late afternoon kickoffs are an arse, aren’t they?

What is the capacity of this stadium, 7500? Tiny place

Oh and Git don’t bother to tell me using Google. Where’s the fun in that?

Blind vs Salah looks fun
