Because they have to make it mean something to finish in specific positions in the top 8, otherwise you risk the likes of us resting all our starters in the last two games because we’ve sewn up top 8, and that could skew results for clubs that otherwise might have had to play a full-strength side, etc.
I don’t mind it, keeps things interesting.
