So was Wirtz
We know who to blame then ![]()
Come on Reds, raise hell. YNWA
Shhh not during Ramadan. Afterwards it’s okay

Uhoh, is he Wirtz off than before?
No Flo in team training
In the footage put online he was only shown eating breakfast.
Frimpong looks to have taken part fully.
Didnt see any Hugo in the rondos/training games either.
Ah right I saw him walking down the stairs in a photo.
Wouldn’t particularly much matter if he is in tomorrows training as it’s short term.
Don’t knock breakfast, for some of us that’s a workout on it’s own.
Arne Slot’s Per-match press conference and my misheard, badly typed and mis-comprehended highlights:
- Delayed again… I think the official LFC feed doesn’t start until the first question because I’ve seen it on TIA where they are buggering about with mics.
- Team news: Frimpong available. Don’t expect Wirtz to be available.
- Wirtz: No timeframe for return at the moment.
- League position: Mainly focussed on game and own performance rather than rivals.
- 9 Premier league games since Salah scored: He had an assist and goal against Brighton in cup.
- Salah level: Not scoring goals at the moment but he always starts scoring after a while. He is not the only forward struggling at the moment. Clean sheets help when players misfire.
- Alisson (debut vs West Ham 7 years ago): He is an outstanding keeper. Mama is also top keeper. Ali is good enough to keep position.
- West Ham: difficult playing against teams in relegation battles. Premier League sides are closer than they used to be.
- West Ham game away helped to end run of bad results: It helped and was a good performance.
- Rio - why is he not starting: He has played more in other competitions. His playing time has improved as he has developed as a player. He does well when he comes on.
- The dull Hungarian question. Do they have goulash in the canteen… nope… something else I can’t make out. Kerkez substitution in Forest game? Only rested as he was getting tired. Available tomorrow.
- Starting games slowly? We never drop into low block. High press can be difficult against some teams. Second halves tend to be better as teams tire and that suits our play. Opposition teams try to slow games down.
- Ekitike - is it difficult for players to improve heading? Modern training is different, he is trying to improve his heading but safety is a factor.
- Rio playing more? Not difficult to manage, but he is very hyped (by pundits) at the moment. He is handling situation as well (parents help as well). He is down to earth and hype doesn’t get to him.
TLDR: Frimpong available. Wirtz out. West Ham tomorrow.
Wirtz doesn’t sound great at all if I’m honest.
Only postive I can think is back injuries are a bit like that and you can never really tell.
"…Ali is good enough to keep position "
..There are a gazillion way’s to put this message across better. Going off this guy each and every time he speaks
That is possible just my summation.
From the transcript:
Question: Allison actually made his debut against West Ham. We were talking about that before, just more than seven years ago since he did that. Just to talk about him, I suppose, how important is he still for you right now? And in terms of his future here at Liverpool.
Slot: now in an ideal world, you don’t need your goalkeeper. So that means you defend so well uh that you don’t need a goalkeeper that makes important saves for you. But the good thing for us is if we do need a goalkeeper, we have an outstanding one. And uh we already have him now for seven years, which he just told me. Seven years ago he made his debut. And uh and the good thing is that we not only have one good goalkeeper, we have um we have Giorgi also a goalkeeper that could be a number one. So this this club is in a really good place when it comes to goalkeepers and has been for so many years because before uh a Giorgi was there we had (Kelleher) and he did really well for us and now for Brentford. So um but Alli has always been the number one and that tells you how good he is if he can keep Queiff and um Giorgi behind him and um so yeah we needed him once against Forest after 3 minutes and uh again he was there for us.
I type out the gist of these things as they are speaking. Maybe better if we had a full transcript?
No please not that. What you put across is enough and great imo. Keeps me upto date without having to go through it all. If a poster wants more they can watch it themselves or ask, rather than jump on it and conclude things out of context.
I don’t find any of this pre match stuff good however I read your resumés that I can handle easily.
Putting no time-frame for a return is generally bad news. We can’t get a break with these f*cking injuries, can we? ![]()
At least Frimpong is back. That will bring some much-needed reinforcement for the RB and RW positions, although he surely won’t start this one.
Everything you relay paints a good picture, so to me, is fine as it is. The Alisson thing, was not even a blip on a really good conspectus, but more me watching Slot like a hawk and noting his comments to self determine whether he is a good fit long-term. ![]()
hahaaaa… @Quicksand …
this will go down well…
Actually, I found that bit quite interesting as I wasn’t aware that they limited heading in training at all for adult players. I know a few people have noted that he has a head like a thrupenny bit.
Did he actually say we never go into a low block?
Is it still part of the game? Heading the ball?
And tackling, and because of foot injuries we might look at that nasty kicking the ball as well?
Seriously though, Rio at that height isn’t going to be challenging for corners. Heading isn’t his biggest concern
