Spending Sunday in Chester with Mrs as Jnr has a day’s lessons at a performing arts school there (pointless dancy shit) Finishes at 4. Going to be a VERY fast drive home.
You’ve got no chance of getting home in time, mate. By the time Junior has done all the goodbyes, and the missus has stopped talking to the other mums, it’ll already be half time at Anfield.
What do they say about “ASSUME”?
Klopptomist didnt mention driving Mrs.k or jr home.
Whilst you’re absolutely right on that point 99% of the time, I’m quite happy to walk over, say “Sorry folks, we have to leave now so I can watch the football”. I love being honest
OOOOkaaay
If Konate is out too then we need a postponement
Think we’ll go with Milner - Gomez - VVD - Robbo/ Tsimikas and I’ll not be comfortable with Milly back there tbh. Fab did a good job when he played as CB althogh a while back and as such he’s not doing wonders in midfield so would be good if we just do that one swap of Konate/ Matip with Fabinho and Gomez as RB itself
Unless it’s big Nat, I guess we’ll go with that too if Konate isn’t fit.
Annoying though coz I’ve been impressed with Gomez at right back, not just this season but also last season when he’s stepped in there. But think he’s looked a lot shakier at CB.
Fingers crossed Ibou is ok
Gomez Fabinho VVD Robertson
Henderson Thiago?
Elliott Firmino Jota
Salah
Tsimikas at RB. Robbo LB…
Nunez to start, SKY wanking over Haaland/Darwin comparrisions.
Darwin scores 2, SKY stop masturbating
Ibou will be fine… The lad won’t let us down
Me hopes… eeeeeek!
Pep was probably the first to constantly target our right side but they don’t have Sterlings speed anymore.
Don’t care about other supporters:v:t4: making fun of Milner - I’m actually looking forward to see him play against Grealish or Foden.
Similar confidence with Gomez as RB but imo he’s sometimes too ‚nice’ on the pitch.
Foden is rapid and rinsed Milner last time he came up against him.
Without Konate we have little to no hope here, but Nat Phillips certainly isn’t the solution.
The ball is quicker than the player.
The action is quicker than any individual.
Their combination play, which results in creating overloads and penetration in that space in between CB’s and full backs and constantly getting to the oppposition’s by-line for clean cut backs, is arguably the best trait of a Pep team. At least going forward/in the final third. Foden is probably their most in-form man alongside Haaland so far this season, speaking of their attackers.
If there is no Konate, there is no option that makes me calm going into the game, though of course a few of them can end up being successful on the day. Memory teaches us that there are examples when we think something is impossible, but sometimes it is. And turns out to be better than feared.
I guess in that scenario it would be Milner (or Fabinho at CB) and then possibly with some tweaks ahead of him in order to protect him.
Can Nunez play CB?
Rightly nervous of this game. I dont think we’re in a good place physically or mentally for it, even after the Rangers win.
That result was great but all it proved to me was that we have the calibre of player to tear teams to shreds when our tails are up. We still conceded first however.
Something isn’t right in the camp and playing a team with no boundaries isn’t exactly a great prospect at the moment.
That said, wouldn’t it be fantastic if we beat them? A proper middle finger.
PS I have a severe disliking for Manchester City.
In a perverse way, having Big Nat TM in the back four will force us to drop deeper, cut out the risky passes from the back; the boys in midfield will drop and follow the runners to help more protect the back line as they will be fearing a thrashing; Gomez, Nat and VVD will essentially stay back to have three cover there rather than just the two as we usually have; the forward line will then need to be something like Nunez and Salah to stay on the shoulder so when we get the ball, a direct pass over the top into space for them to chase, etc.
And then a 95th min winner off Nat’s nose for a 1-0 win.
Ederson will want to show he is better than Ali and will try some showboating stuff. Peak Bobby to embarrass him when he attempts a drag back.
That’s more Ali, trying to show he’s as good on the ball as Ederson.
I hope the coyness of Klopp suggests Konate has at least a chance of starting. Milner struggled at right back against teams on the beach last season I doubt he is the answer tomorrow.
If truth be told I’d go for Nat or play our most flexible LB on the right, but let’s hope Konate plays.
