It was confusing but didn’t unsettle the Magpies.
I thought Frimpong was ok vs Newcastle. He isn’t a long term option but can help out for a season if he keeps his head. He also seems a fun guy and we need some character as far as I’m concerned.
After seeing us against Newcastle I think it best to give the whole squad a fresh slate and watch if things evolve in the desired direction.
Frimpong is a classic example there wasn’t any of that headless chicken frenetics of last season.

Nothing less than a convincing performance and a win would do to calm all of us down and for Iraola to really stamp his mark for his Anfield debut.
And as much use as the Maginot Line when the opposition just go around the sides.

I’m not sure what that tells us about his training schedule, but Slot always preferred a first thing in the morning presser.
I’d be interested to know what he says about the last match. Apparently, he saves his postmortem chat for the next training session after matches.
It’s back to more or less the same press conference schedule as it was under Klopp.
Andoni Iraola on team balance:
“We don’t want to lose the offensive side the fluidity the arrival of numbers, but we were punished the other day. We have been intently working on it. It’s nothing new, we always want to control that. But there is a balance, we can’t go from one way where we send a lot of people forward to putting everyone back and it looks stale.

I was at the Cardiff game when Harvey returned after his bad injury. The love for him and the joy when he scored was something that stayed with me. It’s such a pity what has happened to him, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see him in red again.
