That really seems to be Slot’s preferred first 11 when everyone is healthy…
It wasn’t a while ago, and it won’t be again in a few games time.
I don’t think there is a “preferred first 11” as much. Even though it’s often suggested for example that Fabinho, Henderson, and Wijnaldum were unequivocally first choice during that time, they only played together a handful of times.
Outside of a few exceptions (such as on-form Salah or Alexander-Arnold, or goalkeepers in general), I think it mostly just depends on team by team and rotation needs.
I’m rather concerned with the midfield though, we don’t quite seem to have someone who could rotate in with the midfield 2 there apart from Endō. I suppose the idea would be that if we needed to replace both of them for whatever reason Szoboszlai would drop back into one of the slots.

3 senior players out makes it harder to justify giving him time to train. It’ll be great to see him get some more minutes, but I’m holding off on viewing just making the bench as progress given the absence of Jones and Jota
Yes, good morning. Had a nightmare last night that the Reds played back to back FA Cup and league matches on the same day. After falling behind by a goal, the Reds tied both games in thunderous fashion only to lose both in injury time. So I declared it was fatigue. @cynicaloldgit replied with disdain that I was an idiot and the league had figured Slot out. Now I know why none of you like cynnie.
