a better analogy would be asking who takes a few days off when they are right in the middle of a big project, leading into a key date…
its all a bit of a nothing though this dispute, AFAIK anyone who has raised an eyebrow (myself and Wyld) havent gone in boots and all, more asked if anyone knows if its the odd day, or the bulk of the week…
i mean Curtis could be in an elevator in L4, Virgil could be at any stately manor, Becker definately in UK judging by the weather…just Macca seems abroad.
as a not unrelated question though, has Slots Family relocated to UK?, maybe 2+2=5 here, but, if not, is he having time away and giving players the same?.. i dont think its ideal to complain non stop about midweek fixtures and not having time in training, and complaining all season about players conditioning, to then, take a few days off when you finally get a decent chance to work on structure in training.
i find it interesting and would love to know more…(edit…scratch that, its kinda interesting, but dont really care if i end up knowing more)
then you have the other side of the club blatantly advertising it, when every man and his dog can see we need more time together, not less.
so yeah, the lads do deserve a break and a bit of family time… but maybe just not this week?
big caveat though…so long as the post game stuff was done properly, and if they were all back at training by tuesday then i dont think anyone really gives a toss

yes, well get the usuals howling that we arent true fans etc etc, but even going back to the Klopp days we always (annecdotally) seemed to struggle after having a midseason break…coloq. ‘taking our eye off the ball’
so if we are allowed. i think its worthy of a discussion…
but were going destroy these plastic cunts so who cares! - if anything ill debate our impending 3-0 win should have been 5-0 if we just spent more time on the training park!!!

Players/workers need a break mentally as it is very hard for anyone to concentrate on their work all the time.
Hopefully a mini break, of a day or two helps to refresh them, mentally and physically.
They have been through a lot, starting at the beginning of the season.

Imagine if we’d played a cup semi final midweek while Man City had a week off and had been relaxing by the pool. Wouldn’t we be expecting them to have an advantage?

They don’t, people go for long weekends even in the middle of projects?
Half of them will get zero periods of rest in the summer due to a big tournament. 2 night break in Barca is fine by me, most however seemed to be just day tripping.

Presumably one day would be a recovery day anyway. I’m assuming that this was all arranged weeks in advance once the fixture dates were finalised.

Do you check the result before and then torture yourself? If it was shit I wouldn’t bother.
The most significant difference compared to the past is probably that Klopp used to take a “warm weather break” with the squad in the winter (sometimes even with their families), while Slot apparently doesn’t value such things. There were complaints back then too, so you can never please everyone anyway.
I think Slot also likes to use this time for his own private needs.
