Just watching the ‘Goal Rush 21-22’ segment on Liverpool fc tv. I can’t believe some of the goals we’ve enjoyed this year. Fantastic entertainment.

We’ll be having both matches simultaneously at tha Pub. Ours on the main telly, and the adjacent sets; the Cheaters/Villa on the main behind center bar. It’s good that our match is on USA Network, while the other is on Peacock.

89 minutes, Liverpool winning 3-0, City winning 1-0. Coutinho cuts in from the left and curls a shot around Ederson from 25 yards, into the top corner of the net. The news immediately filters through to Anfield, cue bedlam!!!

I read Paul Merson’s article saying how, if Pep were to win the PL, his achievement would be superior to ours even if we were to win the treble - CL, League and FA Cups. So I did some checking.
Most people were proclaiming Utd’s overhaul of Newcastle’s 12 point lead in Jan 1995 as one of the PL’s greatest feats.
We, on the other hand, clawed back 13 points in the same period, against an established City side led by Pep, not against a new upstart. Also, we were handicapped by AFCON, which took 3 of our 1st team players, compared to City’s 1.
In the CL group stage, we were in the “group of death” but we strolled through winning all 6 games.
In the FA and League Cups we beat a strong Chelsea team on penalties proving our mental toughness - twice.
This Paul Merson guy is either ignorant or biased. Our team truly are mentality monsters and our Jurgen definitely has to be manager of the year regardless of these last 2 results. Anyway just my opinion.

Merson is a thick fuck whose mind has been addled by drink and drugs, I’m baffled to know why he is still a pundit. The bitter shrill should have been put out to pasture years ago.
I’d take punditry from a dog before Merson.
