Not sure how Slot can be blamed today. Team was set up well for a change. Salah and Hugo missed sitters, then clumsy foul by Virg and a great goal. Attitude in 2nd half will be interesting

Aaah come on, you’ll be alright. Just reach the stage of acceptance and you’ll be much more chilled out. At this point you feel you have the obligation to be the light in a darkening fanbase. It’s alright, you can let go of that burden. We’ll all still be here at the end of this.
Oh, they’ll find a way mate.
Goal kick. Ibou to Mama. Shitty stand off. Mama boots it upfield…with 6 of our players super deep
Of course they ball will come straight back, with us stretched.
Whatever the fuck for? Every man and his dog knows the attendance figures are fudged.
So they can fudge them even more?
I’m so pissed with this team I’m not even going to watch the second half.
This is the first time ever.
Not when you can get bladdered for a tenner.
This is it. This is what typifies Slot’s approach to football matches. Control. Possesssion of the ball meaning we are in control.
Until we’re not because the other team all of sudden plays much faster than us and is more decisive up front.
It’s not beyond us. We can do better, but i think Ekitike needs to be more central and not in the neither here nor there position he’s occupied thus far.
Or bring Isak on.
The high balls to Wirtz are a lowlight
On the game before my eyes:
We played pretty well for most of that half. Huge Salah chance spurned. Ekitike blasts one over from a great position. Virg flicks it back from Joe’s great cross, when he could have gone for goal.
There was plenty there to at least have one, maybe two goals.
Man City got a penalty. It was justified. Virg stepped out on the front foot but the player turned and there was more than enough contact to justify it.
1-0. Such a shame, but only one nil, let’s go.
And now the unfortunate part. They added a second right on the stroke of half time. It was a good goal, cross, header, bam. Hard to defend that, and there was no error as such on our part, but the difference is now it is 2-0 and that feels like more of a mountain to climb.
If we can come out fast in the second half and score the next goal, to make it 2-1, you never know.
But the feel of it at this point is a bit of a hard luck story, and few would back this team to have the fight to either score three as we are not sharp enough up top; or keep Man City out as we are leaky at the back.
isak not there
The problem is that this is football, and we are going to concede goal. We moan about the mentality of the team, but you have fans like German Red pissing their knickers at the first sign of adversity, which in this case was a penalty against the run of play.
I watch football for fun, and I have to find the fun in it somehow. I’m not going to end up hate watching us. I’ve just got better things to do. I don’t care whether Slot goes or stays, but if I’m going to watch the game I’m not going to spend that time in a negative headspace.
Really? That’s a shame. For a while now I’ve been convinced that this place would be a lot better if it was just me. ![]()
It’s a cup game. Slot will also have an eye on Wednesday.
Go out hard on the second half to get a goal and make Shitty work for the win.
And none of the kitchen sink formation stuff with a lot of time still left in the game please. Last thing we need is defenders coming off for midfielders, VVD camping in the Shitty box, and no one staying back.
Completely avoidable. Wirtz just gives up. I’m not having that, sorry.
I was entertained by the second city goal, got to admit. But in a cruel way, where you appreciate something you actually hate.
As for the game and our chances, we are the weaker team and it shows. City is far, far from the best City version we have seen the last few years, but they are still much too good for this on an average day. And it seems a bit of an average day where we are playing an above average team. We are not terrible, just far from good enough.
Another mistake by Slot! ![]()
It was a wonderful header, but the best way to stop Vigo scoring is stopping balls like that getting into the box. And it was terrible defending that led to that, defending representative of a confused and ineffective defensive set up that has undermined us all season. It’s been an improved performance in some ways, for the first 30 mins at least, but one still showed the soft underbelly that is difficult to excuse the boss for it occurring
