Yeah , Vader was always too much of a wuss.
Once you get to a quarter or semi final you have to consider actually winning the thing.
I loved last years final, it was an emotional high for the year.
I would love Slot to win his first trophy at his first attempt.
Winning this wonāt stop us winning the league.
I think
Kelleher
Trent (needs to play)
Quansah
Gomez
Endo or Tsimikas if fit
MacAllister
Jones
Elliot
Diaz
Jota
Gakpo
Semifinal and that too depending on who we draw there.
Once a Redā¦
Surely we cannot risk Jota after his injury?
Tell you Rich, I really like you.
You are one really nice person.
But much as I like you, Iām not changing my team.
Its my team Rich.
In the spirit of Christmas let me have my teamā¦
In seriousness
I think its an opportunity to give him game time.
Iām happy to play the U21s plus Endo, Elliott, and Chiesa at this point. Chasing the Carabao Cup has harmed us badly recently.
@quicksand. Given your politeness I will give you your team ;). But if he gets injured I will find youā¦ā¦
Ok
Heās dropped.
Danns is up front.
You might be a Danny Dyer kinda fella
Giving up on the league but scolding others for giving up on the Carabao cup
Where did I say that we should give up on the league?
Said it before, but I wouldnāt lose any sleep if we got knocked out of this competition. Really do think we need to be focusing on the PL and CL this season, while Slot continues to get to grips with the demands of football in this country.
Itād be nice to go through, but I wouldnāt want us risking first team players for it. Saying that, I have a feeling Slot will go a lot stronger than Iād like.
We donāt even have enough players to rotate the whole team. I mean, we physically have, but nobody normal will do a āVillaā in this situation. And it wouldnāt be even right for the kids. Itās always the same ahead of these types of games. A portion of fans want something, the coaching staff does something else. Whenās the last time a coach rotated much more than fans thought or hoped for?
I think whatās most likely to happen is the standard thing, with a few pivotal players like Alisson, van Dijk, Gravenberch, and Salah getting the day off, while those with fewer opportunities to play so far but still getting plenty of games (like Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, etc.) riding the bench. Those who have had really limited time like EndÅ and Morton may well start, but not necessarily both. Kids will come in if there are gaps to do so. Injury recoveries will almost definitely start, so I think Chiesaās pencilled in for this already, and Elliott will probably get the start.
Itās the backline that will be interesting, and I wonder if thereās a case to be made for Alisson to get the game to have a bit more time given that heās been out for a while.
I do like the suggestion we shouldnāt risk players after injury.
Maybe they shouldnāt bother even playing. In case they get injured. They can wave from the stands.
Jota still needs game time even if itās another 20-30 mins, same goes for Chiesa.
Didnāt slot say Tsimikas wasnāt far off.
@quicksand. Leave him in. I am more of a Diar Danny wheezer.
Thanks Cynnie for your two pence.
Not quite because I still have had to apply the finishing touches.
Youāre losing your grip old git
True, beating those Chelsea cunts twice at Wembley will haunt me for the rest of my days.
Sarcasm aside, I do know what you mean but having perma-crocks in the squad like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago and Keita was the real problem.
