Prematch | Southampton vs Liverpool | LC Weds 18th Dec | 20:00 GMT

I always want Liverpool to win every game, but there are some which are more important as you say.

Lot of presumption there.

Once the whistle blows, my chimp will be out and I’ll want to win.

Right now, and after the final whistle, I won’t be arsed if we get knocked out. We have bigger fish to fry and I’ll take not being legged through a two legged semi final in January, thanks.

The problem with the comp is the twin leg shit. Fuck that right off.

I value the LC as a way to give our youngsters and seldom played players an opportunity to prove what they can do and maintain sharpness.

From that perspective, getting knocked out too early isn’t great but we need to be pragmatic and also prioritize the PL and CL.

Ridiculous now. Play them at Wembley like the FA Cup, and give the fans a treat…

Maybe we’d have been a bit closer in the run-in if we’d got a penalty late on at Chelsea when Jackson (?) clearly handled from a corner.
A bit closer if we hadn’t had 3 points stolen off us at Spurs in the clearest case of match fixing I’ve ever seen.
We may have been even closer if the Brighton defender was sent off as he should have been but was allowed to stay on, or the ref hadn’t bought the clear dive for the free-kick they equalised with.
Even closer still if Odegaard wasn’t allowed to play basketball in his own box.
Or closer if Doku wasn’t allowed to plant his boot in MacAllister’s chest without punishment.
Heading into the Utd and Palace games with those extra 10-11 points (let’s not forget City and Arsenal would have had 1 less each) might have made some difference I reckon. Of course you will probably argue we might not have won all those matches but personally I’d rather be in the position to find out.
And of course the most obvious thing surrounding all those incidents is the fact it was ALL the usual suspects involved.

I suspect you could visit various opposition forums who’d say similar about decisions not given to them.

There was no controversy at all about the Jackson “handball” other than among a group of 10 or so posters on here who have never seen a tackle against us that wasnt a foul.

Where does the lad play…

Would it be Dom’s role or in the attack?

Too bad. League Cup games aren’t on TV here.

More than just ten posters on here.
The decision was controversial, not to you maybe. But it was another decision against Liverpool.

You posted an article explaining why it was not a handball

VAR review: In the Premier League, there has always been a more lenient interpretation of handball. As Jackson was jumping, he had his arm close to his body, and Díaz’s flick meant there was little time to react to the movement. Both of Jackson’s arms were in the same position, which suggest expected position for his movement in that situation.

I posted an article to illustrate that it was a controversial decision for more than the group of ten posters you referred to.
But you chose to ignore that bit.

There is no controversy referenced or even alluded to in the article, just a simple unambiguous explanation for why the non-penalty was the expected call.

An incident’s inclusion in that column does not defacto make it controversial as incidents are often selected to draw comparisons against other seemingly similar incidents that were judged differently and to explain why the rules call for different outcomes in those situations. Which is exactly what Dale did with his discussion on the Jackson handball shout.

Maybe you can go to the office and actually work.

If the decision wasnt controversial, then it wouldn’t be written about.

There are several articles referencing the decision not to give a penalty against Jackson.
That makes it a controversial decision.

Your comment was an attempt to reduce the opinions of a number of posters on here.
Opinions or views which are as valid as yours, opinions which form part of a discussion.

You may not agree with those views, but its poor form pigeon holing posters that have views contrary to yours.
