Premier League 2020/21 (Part 1)

Nobody can beat Leicester City’s grounds man.

2nd best looking grass in Leicester, top being Rebecca Vardy.

I think this is a non-trivial part of the resurgence of the European super league idea. Clubs that are paying the bills are increasingly disgruntled with a regulator that profits massively, and faces few of the consequences.

That’s always been my thought on the rule, if it’s based on feet you’ve almost always got the same point of reference.

When you think about the goals that would be allowed by that, but not by the current one, it is hard to see what the damage would be.

What is pathetically unfair at the moment with the offside rule… is that when a forward points to his team-mate where to play the ball for him… the pointed finger, hand, wrist, forearm, bulging bicep, armpit, under arm hair or shoulder can be deemed offside… Or can it…?? So confusing or what.!!!

Confusing is way too respectable a term, fucking stupid fits like a glove.

Good. It’s rude to point.

If a goal cannot be scored with an arm… what is the verdict should a defender in an attempt to clear from inside his own penalty area… Q) Hits it against the arm of a team-mate and it ricochets into his own net… Is it a penalty because it hit the arm first…?? A goal awarded due to advantage played…??
Many years ago it was honestly easier to interpret the rules as a 10yr old running about in the Sunday League… everyone just seemed to know what was right and what wasn’t… So difficult to understand what/why certain decisions will be getting made…!!

Absolutely. I see people saying that if the big clubs are worried about fatigue they need to rest and rotate more and they have the squads to do that.

But they also have to hand players over for crap like the Nations League and see them travel round the globe, train and play away from the coaches and medical teams that are responsible for them and all for no benefit.

Something will need to give otherwise you’re right, big clubs will form a super league where they have better control over the demands placed on their players.

I love football but this relentlessness of games is starting to fatigue me and I’m watching less even though there is more available. Imagine the impact on interest levels for the rest of the leagues if the big clubs disappear off.
