Premier League 2020/21 (Part 1)

NULL AND VOID!

You know it makes sense…

We might see England compelled to have the same winter break most of the rest of the European leagues have.

Villa and Toon can just play in one of the Cup weekends when they get knocked out, that part is fairly simple. Where the chaos will land is when one of the sides in Europe, or an opponent has to start playing around with fixtures.

I thought we were supposed to be losing when we said that?

Given it will be you and I in central defence soon, better to get in early.

I wasn’t aware Newcastle and Villa had a packed season.

Why does it take so long for people to pay attention? Didn’t the Boss studied Sports Science, together with his support staff, the Boss and co knew about it a long time ago.

That is going to be interesting to see play out - there are loads of good but not great European players in the PL who might not be in the UK under this system. I don’t really have a good enough sense of the PL squads to guess at which clubs are going to need to adjust their recruitment the most dramatically - certainly the Toon of about 6-7 years ago would need to throw their strategy out completely.

Winning the league without our big money signings will be immense.

Double headers… 60 mins each game, how we do it at amateur level.

I guess the relevant thing with that announcement is what is the threshold to reach a qualifying number of points? Unless it is low enough to be trivial, that could tear apart many Prem squads, let alone championship ones.

Players already signed aren’t covered, but it is going to make the January transfer window complicated. I can see UK players refusing contracts with relegation wage reduction clauses, for a start.

Oddest thing is the EFL have accepted it.

Does it mention players from within the CTA,or any future relationship that the UK may forge with foreign countries(maybe commonwealth) regarding the right of citizens to work in each others territory.

It appears the CTA is not covered in it, but it sounds like the intent is to cover it.
