Might as well train in the local park.

About as funny as Arteta

I’m waiting for him to claim that he was the reason they won the PL that year.

An interesting piece here about Timo Werner , who for a while looked as if he was definitely about to become a Liverpool player. Wonderful yet wasteful: Chelsea must unlock the best of Timo Werner | Chelsea | The Guardian

Will he come good for the Chavs , or did we dodge a £50m sized bullet ?

Here’s the evidence for the prosecution ;

I won’t rehash my feelings about Werner but I think when it’s all said and done and people looks back after Werner is no longer a Chelsea player, the ā€œstatisticsā€ will say he lived up to his fee. Altho there is much more context to the numbers, and they can be very misleading.

I also won’t belabor my feelings of Kai Havertz being terrible value for the fee spent. I have always liked him and I’ve followed him closely so I take no great pleasure in saying it. He was always going to need a special hand and special manager to unlock his skillset and potential. There is no improvement, even incrementally, week to week. In fact it’s the opposite, He only looks even more lost. And Leverkusen isn’t missing him even a little bit this season.

Completely agree. Of the two , Haavertz looks to be the bigger dud. I’ve watched him this season and have yet to see even a hint of why he was considered to be worth that kind of money.

With Werner , apart from the glaring misses , I have to say I’ve been quite impressed with him. The Guardian piece actually reminded me of a striker we had at Liverpool who never lived up to his reputation , Dean Saunders. Like Werner , he was deadly latching onto something played through to him , but absolutely useless with his back to goal.

I happen to think Werner is a far better player however and I would back him to come good soon. One thing is for sure , he would have improved far more under Klopp than he is ever likely to under Lampard.

I was very impressed with Havertz at BL, maybe another who might have to get on back on track elsewhere.

At least they don’t have the crowd currently but maybe that’s it.

Looking forward to this lunchtime game. Leicester who can turn it on against United who have won every away game this season in the EPL. I think United might well win this. I don’t think they are quite as useless as others on here like to believe.

Feel Albrighton would be the key player today for Leicester’s win against United…
