Tell that to the fourth place Bitters
Nah, they arenât. Theyâre as spawny as it gets this season. Will revert to type once Bruno runs out of steam here.
I am still not afraid of Manchester United. I wouldnât worry. They are in good form, have played some really good games (this one wasnât that good though) but we are a better team and I donât think they will be within 5 points of us come the end of the season. Right now, imo, Manchester U deserves to be up there, but it wonât last throughout the season.
We have a much, much higher ceiling when it comes to form and have a better system of play.
Agree, but we could use some good health.
I donât think so.
Fair point, Iâm just annoyed at how lucky they are. Agree our ceiling is much higher even without our two starting CBs, and in addition to their jammy bullshit against SOU, WHU, WOL, etc. they have been fortunate with injuries. Given how many injuries there have been, you would have to think itâll catch up with them at some point and one of their players will be out for a month or two.
Yeah, injuries have been brutal to us for sure. Let us wish for an easier 2021 in every possible way.
We are our biggest threat. United will only remain in a title race if we carry on with up and down form. United dont have the personnel to sustain their little run.
Exactly. We are a better team both on paper and in the flesh. SolskjĂŚr is doing much better than expected with that squad, but over an entire season, I refuse to think they will be within 5 points of us come the end of the season. We are better.
But like Alright Now says, we could really use some better luck concerning injuries of key personnel. It ruins our rhythm a bit, to gel new (and in many cases inferior) players all the time.
Can see people talking about luck, the same luck that others said we had last couple of seasons.
Its not luck, they are in good form and do have decent players in that squad.
We are definitely a better team but if not careful these lot could overtake us by the next round of games.
We better win our next 2 pl games and still be ahead when they visit the home of the champions.
Whatâs so staggering is how much better we are even with shit luck. United would be firmly mid-table if the karmic balance of the universe had any kind of equilibrium.
I absolutely agree that itâs not luck, but I really donât think they will overcome us; not with our higher ceiling. Over an entire season I just donât see it.
I am far more worried about City than I am about United.
So am I currently. Will be 5-6 more rounds at least before I will revise that opinion (unless City goes on a stunning series of bad games).
They have a good team and I do think they can reach a high level on their day. What I think others (myself included) are saying is that theyâve gotten good results largely without playing well bar the odd game against Leeds; yes, getting results when not playing well is admirable, but only when youâre getting the business done more often than not. They have not turned up on numerous occasions this season and itâs a wonder theyâre not mid table. This season is a crapshoot and theyâre right in it at the moment, but luck alone doesnât win you titles.
Iâm making Rashford and Bruno voodoo dolls, they shall feel severe pain once iâve made them.
Wow, fucking hell, donât know how it took me this long but Bruno needs a new dentist.
I am honestly not sure thatâs true, imo they are much better than many Liverpool fans tend to say they are. They probably deserve to be around where they are. But itâs very frustrating, you can see in our games, even the ones that we have thrown away, that our players are better, most of them anyway, compared to them and we also play in a superior system, and ideally, yeah, karmically there should be a wider gap down to them. But I donât think for instance Chelsea or Tottenham have been better than Manchester United this season, United deserves to be over them on the table.
Iâm guessing most teams felt that way about us last season. We had good health and our share of late wins. Agree with @Magnus that United has fared better than expected. But I also agree that on paper, we are the better squad. We really do need to get healthy to keep legs fresh. This is a real slog.
