The funny thing is that the second tweet is from a United fan trying to show that it was a penalty. To me it just shows Pogba first making contact with Luiz’ already planted leg, which then knocks his foot back on to his other leg, which trips him up. It’s a variation on the Vardy technique.

The thing that bothers me about the line that these things even themselves out over a season is that if that were true, it would imply a sense of order to what are supposed to be unfortunate calls, random slices of luck. If true that would only bolster the case that they’re manipulated.
The reality is that these bad calls, slices of luck, shouldn’t balance themselves out. If they truly are random misfortunes then teams will randomly benefit or suffer more than others. That’s just how it goes.
Where I get a bit animated by it is that how come certain teams always seem to suffer from such bad luck more than others? That should be random too, right, if they genuinely are cases of misfortune?

It’s useless to debate about any penalty United gets. The number of penalties they get is just abnormal. So a bunch of them have to be controversial.

Sure. In a fair and an ideal world.
It feels that starting from before our title win, there is a trend which has developed into a frenzy to aid the scum as much as possible to prevent us from matching their record. Approximately 1 out of 3 of their goals is a penalty going for 2 years. That’s just not normal. And no one in the media raises the question. Not that that’s a surprise in itself but it’s telling.
God I hope we wipe the floor with them when we meet.

How the officials did not spot that Pen was a con trick I do not know. Clearly cheating but then it is United so what do you expect. Having said that I thought both teams looked better than we do at the moment ,the Mancs were just that bit nastier. Matic came on and stuck his elbow in some ones face before he had been any where near the ball and continued to foul all night. That nastiness and dirty side of the game is a throw back to Ferguson ways. We are going to have to be a lot more solid at the back to win the league this season.
Can someone explain to me how the yellow card rules look like this season?
Was it 5 cards until Matchday 19 and then a player have to sit out one or was it 5 cards until December 31st and then a suspension?
I think the VAR did; but it was paul “selective myopia” tierney on duty, so no surprise it was given. 
Replace pogba with any of our front three and he would not have given the penalty e.g. far more contact on Sadio, by the goalie in the last match (referee tierney) and we got nothing.

5 cards in the first 19 games gets you a one match suspension. 10 in the first 32 gets you a two match suspension.

didn’t check all the teams but we are probably the one with the fewest. Sadio and Fabinho have collected two yellow cards and then we have 9 players who have one booking until now.
