the word deliberate has long been a distraction in understanding the interpretation of the law. intent has now for a long time been inferred by what actions the player took to allow the ball to hit them. We’ve now reached a point of saying “you have a hand, therefore you contributed to it hitting your hand…penalty!”

Everton were the best team before they got their lead. Afterwards, quite predictable, Palace the best team. Palace played well enough now in the second half, but hard to say how Everton would have played were they not 1 up (I for one seriously doubt they would be so deep).
Result is fair enough. Let Evetonians enjoy their team for a little bit, in a couple of weeks it will all be over and they will be looking up at the table again.
