Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

Hardly shoulder to shoulder. I think we would want a pen for that ? He just wiped him out

Clever from Newcastle. Middlesbrough unlikely to come up, so they’ll go down to play some derbies. Always thinking of supporters.

I don’t think it’s bad blood at all, and l would be very surprised if Klopp carried any sort of grudge. Just normal heat in the moment stuff, which I even like. I found it nice to see a more emotional Arteta to tell the truth. To provoke you even further (lol, this is a very friendly provocation) I think signs are there now that Arteta is even doing a very good job with his squad after what was a very difficult beginning for him, where he was derided by both fans and oppositions fans.

It’s all good sport, he hasn’t been really mean or cruel after all !

Ps. Also, shouldn’t we be thankful for it ? Anfield rose and lifted the team into crushing Arsenal after that event, and it gave our team some really nice moral injection straight into their veins.

Unfortunately, I think tomorrow comes a bit too fast for Manchester U. If we beat Southampton today, which we almost have to do, we could really have done with some aid from MU to equalise our points difference. But I don’t think they will be able to beat a very strong Chelsea side without a lot of pure luck.
I have a bit more hope for West Ham. They are quite strong and in good form. They might get a draw away against City. If they are lucky, they might even beat them.

But yeah, our game against Southampton is going to be crucial to keep up with Chelsea.

Just saw Zaha’s push… Why not a red?

Nice to see the Saudis lost. Long may it continue

Interest match, this. Brighton have forced Leeds into a nervy match, which weirdly has helped Leeds keep it scoreless. They haven’t been about to maraud forward. Kalvin Phillips was so poor he was yanked at half time. Leeds might actually snatch this, though they’ve been well outplayed.

Though I thought Phillips was brilliant there last weekend against Spurs, I can’t really figure out Bielsa’s thinking in moving him to CB. Seems like instead of playing players in their natural positions, he’s decided to switch three or four of them around and created square pegs in round holes situations all over the pitch.

Leeds are lucky Brighton are in a run again of not knowing how to score goals or win games.

He was playing in the midfield, today, though. Leeds seem uninterested in the smash and grab. Brighton have really looked good all match. Dominating performance but woeful in front of goal.

Howe has some job on through the rest of the season, they are absolutely horrific. The lack of effort, discipline and overall basic football skills is staggering.

Kind of to be expected really given what’s going on. Most of the squad know they’re getting lobbed soon, if not chopped up with a bonesaw.

If they are not careful they will be fighting for promotion from the championship next season.

@RER said that I must be one of the everything must be rosy crew.

I am clearly not. Still not over the draws against Brentford and Brighton.

Brighton could not beat Newcastle, Villa or Leeds since our draw.

And Brentford got just one point against Newcastle, Norwich and Burnley recently.

Should have also beaten ten men Chelsea and should be top of the table by now.

The 3 wins in the last 7 days won’t get me carried away.

Let’s see what the derby brings but I am already concerned about the game against Wolves who are in a form similar to Brentford and Brighton when we played them.

I’m rooting for ManU tomorrow.

I feel so dirty.

0-0 would be a good result.

With 5 red cards

Isn’t 3 red cards for a side an automatic 3-0 loss?

Ok, two each then

Ha! If true, wonder how many PL referees know that rule.
