Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

How is that news? The referees are still the same as last season.

yeah wishful thinking on my part. Was thinking that the directives with getting rid of ridiculous armpit offsides would have a positive effect on refereeing in general.

He’s very one dimensional imo, that being said, it’s hasn’t stopped other managers being successful. His management style suits Spurs.

Wanted to write a word or two about Leeds…

Find it absolutely amazing if they don’t sign a central midfielder in this window. Doesn’t get talked about enough in my opinion when they speak about Leeds.

Last summer they were looking for one (had an option or two lined up), but failed to. Ended up having to play Rodrigo more than he probably deserved in that second striker role and also Dallas did a good job moving from full back to midfield in the second part of the season.

They basically don’t have anyone else other than Phillips and Klich, speaking of proper senior CM’s. Pablo Hernandez started playing much less last season already, he was just too old and the PL was a level up for his situation.

Currently on a net spend of -£27m, let’s see if they sign a midfielder. Really thin in that department.

You know who I meant

Ironically I thought it was ok in ours, odd or two things but nothing serious.

To me mistakes will be made, you have to question would it odd for it happen and would VAR have the right to intervene.

This ref course has left me less reactive to stuff.

Good weekend of PL football, eh? Liverpool wins. Every match delivered 3 points to someone.

would Milner go if he was offered the position? he’d be a good influence there.

Since he’s still going nowhere this season, who knows what happens in a year of football. Bielsa might not be there. Or if he is still, he might not want him. We’ll see what happens. This is not writing off Millie, but this is probably his last (playing) season with us.

Ironically, they’ve tweaked VAR so that it still remains shite but now it’s shite in a different way. These guys have to be applauded for having the innovation to keep finding different ways to fuck it up. Ian Ayre hasn’t got any involvement, has he?

They’ve sorted the offside stuff (implementing something I suggested over a year ago) but have gone backwards on others. Yes, it really is important to know if it’s actually a penalty, or a corner etc.

Then it has nothing to do with VAR, you could suggest the line drawing was as it was getting a joke on something that had been set up with human error in mind, this thicker line has helped to be fair in a few leagues with lots of games in those leagues losing goals (MLS seemed to change overnight).

The rest human interpretation which it always has been.

Does it really make sense to be testing these players and excluding them from outdoor matches? The stadiums are at 100% capacity, and there is lots of coronavirus in Britain by data. Time for a more sensible approach. Don’t test unless they have symptoms.

Yes. There is a duty of care to his team mates and everyone he comes into contact with before and after the game.

Does he have to self isolate for 10days I wonder…
Would mean him missing our game next week is all

Not sure what the protocol is. I doubt it’s ten days. Anyway, fully vaccinated player, no symptoms. Stadium packed with drunk, not-very-healthy people who don’t have to take any test. Just dumb. Do people going to PL stadiums have to prove vaccination status, I wonder?

Well at Anfield… checking for vaccination proof on top of swiping the match tickets…
Tomorrows game would probably be good to go by about next Wednesday…!

The protocol in the US is quite lax if youre vaccinated and just exposed to a case, but if you’ve had a positive test it is still 10 days of isolation from the positive test or until tested negative.

Everyone get to Anfield for about 6.30 am, for 12.30 kick off!

Yeah, hence, I don’t want to be tested. Someone pointed out to me the other day that self-tests are available now where you get the answer without consulting a lab. If that’s true, none of those positive tests are being reported. Delta is everywhere it would seem.

Would be great if tomorrow Chelsea and Man U drop points away so their fans go into doomsday prediction against their manager after their title win last week :joy:
