Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

Puts into perspective all the prior chat about Chelsea being inevitable I guess…

Best thing is they probably don’t get to enjoy an absolutely stunning result by their team.

Many games in Germany are already being played with reduced capacity or even behind closed doors for a few weeks now.

After this weekend they are having their 3 week winter break anyway. Otherwise they would probably decide to play all games behind closed doors.

It would probably be best to play all games in England behind closed doors for the rest of the year but I think it’s not even being discussed at the moment.

I’m still struggling to get my head around how the PL can justify games and full attendance at games in the face of a known hazard to health.

Only this week I’ve heard of a work party resulting in a mass infection incident which now has to be reported to the HSE.

What is like to have competent politicians and decision makers in sport?

Agree, same for me here. I’ll swerve all ghost games if we have to go back to them. For me, it’s just not worthy of spending time on this.

Losing Kante has hit them hard.

There’s no way the PL’s lords and masters will let them halt playing matches until after they have wrung every penny out of the festive season.

Even if 50% of the games are postponed?

Nope.

TV rights sold for way too many games over the xmas period for the P/L to scrap them all unless the gov dictates that they must. So games will be going ahead where possible until after NY. I bet once that happens and they get the FA Cup 3rd round done, then the P/L will likely call for a 2-3 week circuit break

By that time they could be massively playing catch up, with 6 games gone this weekend and with the football league in a similar position they would be wise to do it now and see what they can salvage on Boxing day and through that period.

It’s discrediting the legitimacy of the league as Biesla said to play teams with 5-6 players missing due to Covid.

Crowds should be limited to home support and probably 20k at most though with the limit at 10k for checks that sounds a more suitable number.

As Whitty said this will peak quicker so by mid January it might be pointless the issue comes with the fact if they try and put games in that winter break we are without three Brazilians along with Salah, Mane and Keita. I actually think such a loss due to international call ups would allow us to call a postponement anyhow.

The European leagues have very clear guidance. Hmmm

it’s a sign of the pyramid of society as a whole. we are literally in the .0001% of football clubs at the top of the pile.

Are we Gates, Bezos, Musk, etc??? which one most closely aligns?

Gates probably

Definitely Musk, inventive, innovator, builder. Other two basically created 1 thing, neither of them build anything. 1 created the ultimate middleman, the other days of closing, restarting and pulling your hair out.

Musk is a massive Cnut though and I’m not sure he is the inventor a lot of him make him out to be.

Also discounts the terrible labour practices, and the claiming of credit of the innovations of those who work in his companies, etc.

Gates is actually now doing something good with (almost all of) his money; even if he was a cut throat monopolist and somewhat imperfect husband. The other two are only interested in spending on their ego with a gross disregard for real world problems.
If we aren’t the Gates of that trio then the Petro dopers and Barcodes must be Kim Jung Un, Vladimir Putin and Josef Stalin respectively.
