Premier League 2021/22 (Part 1)

No, I get that piece of it. Footballers are public figures. Taking these actions isn’t going to retard the spread of the thing, though. All the data point to that.

But they are public like everyone else you can’t have rules for one group of specific players and with the poor vaccination rate sadly they are at a risk group.

Kimmich is out for 2 months with it remember.

After all they are humans not show ponies, if you aren’t getting football this weekend.

Curious to me these leagues don’t mandate vaccination.

They should 100% mandate vaccination.

Anyway, maybe better for me, as I won’t watch six hour of football today and may discover I can have a more productive Saturday.

I agree. But even with 100% vaccination, I do bet there would still be a high number of positives in this new wave. What then? Should vaccinated players testing positive and with no symptoms be allowed to play?

Absolutely doesn’t stop you testing positive…as friends and family will vouch.

No
But if everyone in the same area is vaccinated it reduces transmission rates.

Languishing in 14th place!

How many games have been postponed so far?

What time was the Villa game postponed? I suspect it wasn’t early enough to stop Burnley fans travelling.

and radically cuts down the probability of genuinely negative outcomes, in which case El_Dorado’s ‘let them play’ becomes somewhat more viable.

Nowhere close to near enough, I think the decision was just a little over an hour ago, within 2 hours of kick-off

Once again, the Premier League stick two fingers up to the fans. This could easily have been called off this morning, they just don’t give a shit.

The league will probably be in touch with clubs all the time, if the clubs tell the league they are happy to go ahead, I don’t see the league necessarily being in a position to say otherwise.

It sounds like Villa alerted the league that a significant number of their players had positives in pre-match testing about that time, so unavoidable in the moment - but that in turn reflects rather poor thinking and management of the overall situation. Something as simple as testing at end of day before the match probably would have turned up most of those positives.

I wonder why the fans don’t protest such tomfoolery. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
