Try living in West Yorkshire with them they have been a big team for last 20 years
KDB player of the season. I think hes a great player. The form hes hit this last 2 weeks (inc that 4m goal game) really helped that happen.
Mos stats way better ofcourse
Oh itās why I wanted to see Huddersfield up instead of them.
The āall lives matterā thing I canāt get away from with Burnley, I know the club condoned it but itās irked me with them since itās happened.
The 2021/22 Premier League season is the first in the competitionās history where it is mathematically possible for each position to change going into the final day.
I am still trying to figure out how Foden was ahead of TAA in the Young Player vote.
I know forwards are usually ahead in votes, but this is just ridiculous.
It makes no sense.
Re Salah or KDB, you can make a case for either to be fair. But overall on achievement this season Salah has to be ahead.
Something else to considerā¦
The best midfielder in football at the moment has had near the same amount of appearances as Fodenā¦so why wasnāt Thiago part of the conversation?
Ryan Giggs won POY with a lot less starts than Thiago.
Easy: itās because these (like almost all) awards are a complete farce.
FIXEDā¦RIGGEDā¦!!! I think it is clear.
To give them a consolation prize for the season while we sweep all the trophies?
But Trent is much better looking
And a better player , better person, well mannered and not a yobboā¦
Duh. Trent canāt defend, donāt ya know.
Recency bias
I dont buy the recency bias angle. Voting was a while ago.
On recent form Mane is ahead of the pack.
Their (imo stupid) reasoning I assume would be something along these lines: Salah started extremely well but has faded in the final stretch when Liverpool needed him (despite us in reality being on an unbelievable winning run). KDB has come into world class form at the end of the season and it is him taking $hitty to the title.
On this very forum, there are many who have wanted Salah dropped over the last 3 months (again, imo crazy). For me, only the goals have dried, whereas all the rest of his play is as good as ever.
The TAA, Henderson (Elliot right at the start of the season), and Salah patterns of play on the right have made us take the next step in the amouint of goals created and scored. Salah is a major part of that.
But my view is that the form at the time the votes are done , are given much stronger weighting due to recency bias.
Thats me! I think Salah has been ordinary for a while now - tis understandable heās burnt out after his season so far and I also think its fair that DeBruyne would be ahead of him for POTY. Against Real Mane and Dias certainly should start and if Jota or Firmino were bang in form then Iād put Salah on the bench. However given neither Diogo or Bobby are there right now then Mo must start. Hopefully he can re-find his shooting boots and decision making as I think weāre going to need a positive contribution from everyone if we are going to win the CL.
AFCON did for him imo. He played two 120 min games in the knockout stages with stressful penalty shoot outs. Egypt were a one man show, and unfortunately that man was Mo. He carried them. His form has hit a wall since he returned.
Add to that the protracted contract negotiations. His toxic agent has got inside his head - again imo. Major distraction.
But we canāt NOT play him because heās Mo Salah and capable of a flash of genius at the drop of a hat. This must be a nightmare situation for JK.
Memories are short I think. Mo not in form, KdC is by all accounts (I donāt watch them). Same for TAA and Foden perhaps?
Is it down to timing of the vote?
The performances are there, and the numbers back this up. The thing thatās disappeared are the goals, but everything is still there.
The other thing is that when Mo Salah us on the pitch, the opposition generally gave three players on him, which creates room for others.
He isnt an agent but a close friend of Moās that helps him with the deals. Its unlikely he is doing anything Mo wouldnt agree to.
