Premier League 2021/22 (Part 2)

The arse been poor after a good start.

What an idiot is Holding. Deserved red. Left the referee with no option.

Game effectively killed off in the last 15 minutes.

The arse will need major improvements if they qualify for the CL.

Decent effort Nketiah.

Has there been a more predictable result this season than Tottenham beating Arsenal tonight? Arsenal will have to hope that Newcastle continue their slow stroll to the beach and that Everton return to mean (I think that they have a dreadful record away to Arsenal) if they are to play CL football next season. It’s not that I don’t like Tottenham… Yeah, actually, I really don’t like Tottenham, and without CL football they might have huge problems holding on to Conte and if he walks away, Kane walks away and they implode.

Well played spurs.

A Spurs win will ensure that Chelsea isn’t guaranteed for CL next season.

Arsenal deserve all of this (and I wanted them to win!)

At least a spurs win keeps things interesting for remaining games.

Is Son actually going to finish his career at Spurs having won nothing?

Son one goal behind Mo with Norwich and Burnley still to play.

Madrid 4 up at HT.

Hoping Benzema picks up a little you know what…^^

Mo can’t win it every year…Son would be a worthy winner. Unreal player.

Spurs - Burnley
Newcastle - Arsenal

Arsenal - Everton
Norwich - Spurs

Spurs favorite for fourth place now imo but end of the day they are spursy and might not even beat Burnley and/or Norwich.

ah…not?
Talking just at round 36 right? They’ll have to lose 2 straight games and both Arsenal and Spurs will have to win both of theirs

Really interesting coverage of the game here in the US - things getting a bit chippy between the 2 Robbies about what this means for top 4 and the two clubs moving forward.

Earle thinks failure to land top 4 will lead to questions about Arteta’s position. He accepts it is harsh, but its an inevitable situation anyone at a club with Arsenal’s size and expectations will need to field.

Mustoe thinks that’s incredibly harsh and regardless of the outcome of the top 4 chase the evidence of progress at Arsenal is self-evident. Spurs on the other hand given their manager and where they have been recently NEED top 4 to justify the decisions that have been made. Earle shot back essentially mocking Spurs saying he gets the argument, but Arsenal are just so much of a bigger club that they cannot accept that contest being handicapped like that…they cannot lose out to Tottenham and think anyone gets credit. After more back and forth Earle intimated Mustoe is a pussy with low expectations.

Honestly you love to see it. The studio analysis of these two over the years has been a breath of fresh air compared to the brainless Pablum of the Sky and BT coverage, but they are both so emotionally disconnected from the stakes they’re talking about given the clubs they are connected to (Mustoe might have once talked shit about Leeds given his North Yorkshire connections) that it has typically lacked any sort of emotion. it’s was really a shock to see this level of disagreement.
