Premier League 2022/23 (Part 1)

You know that they still have a game in hand?

Moyesy for the job then. Don’t see wolves , bournemouth doing any favours

Those defeats to Bournemouth and forest will cost us top 4.

:eyes::eyes:

In their last 15 available pointd they have dropped 5, so not inconceivable. Especially woth Shaw and Lindelof at CB.

Anyway , will keep my hopes up. If Man Utd replicate their form of their last 5 games which includes one draw and one defeat and we win our 4 games. We are in with a chance when it comes to the final day of the season.

They haven’t they’ve got very easy games frankly.

Also Villa.

Not easy at all.

It’s 5 dropped from their last 9. But that was also the tough run prior to going into a much more comfortable run in. That run in is comfortable enough that it’s just difficult to see where the points will dropped.

There are a couple of narratives you can raise to say why any of these remaining games might be challenging, but if they beat Fulham, Wolves and Chelsea at home then they have made it even without having to pick up anything away to West Ham or Bournmouth.

The west ham game is key, as losing that could cause panic to set in.

I think they are both looking a bit fatigued so they need to use their $85m CB :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Would be great for Fwank to break his duck against them

Epic implosion under way for both Sandcastle and this lucky, media and ref-favored lot

Who will drop enough points to end up 5th?

Dropping more points against West Ham is essential. Beyond the psychological effects I just dont see the maths being possible if they get a win there.

C’mon Moyesey, lad.

I wouldn’t mind getting just the Europa league this season. It will be a relative failure by the club’s standards but thats one trophy that Jurgen has yet to win.

Obviously the preference is to still sneak by and pip United but we still have unfinished biz with the Europa

The biggest issue is the potential away trips it throws up. You can get a nasty midweek trip to an eastern european club in the CL, but due to the difference in seeding you can get a whole group of them in this tournament. There as one group this past year with side from Turkey, Ukraine and Cyprus. There was another with trips to Hungary, Serbia and Turkey.

Again true. But the loss where we were robbed vs Sevilla in the first half and moreno’d in the second half still gets me.

It was like 2 or 3 penalties denied ?

Distinctly remember a Sevilla player sweeping at the ball and not getting a penalty… And some more as well.

That game we were robbed.

I’d send our squad if that somehow happened.

I actually think it would be rather beneficial for the squad rebuild and if I’m bluntly honest it’s better than no European football, that won’t help attract players, at the moment it looks like a blip.

I think I’m right in saying, to win the Europa League, it’s 19 games, compared to 13 for the Champions League. That’s like another half of a Premier League season. Add to that, having to play on a Thursday and then domestic games moved to a Sunday and it does make winning the Premier League more difficult.
