Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

But at the end of the day, we’ve dropped at least three and quite possibly five points due to abysmal decisions made by the referees. What are going to do about they, they’re gonna tell us that “these things even themselves out through the course of the season”? If that was the case, we’d be winning the league on evening out the decisions from 2018/19 alone.

I genuinely have issues when it comes to dealing with injustices. I only hope that injuries gives us a wide berth and that Klopp now has everything he needs to galvanise this side, motivate the world out of them and set them on course to another great run. And that’s just when it comes to this season. Tougher games are ahead, hopefully we won’t be down a referee in any of them.

Oh I dunno what we do as I have said I don’t expect anything in the league, before the Jones challenge I was thinking this is a good test.

I can accept bad decisions like pens not given and so on. What I can’t is obvious stuff like that offside, stuff like Jota’s first yellow and Maca’s red card.

How can you compete when that happens. At this point I don’t think I’ll bother with our league games.

I would like to know how it is possible that the standard of refereeing is getting worse by the season. The worst implementation of VAR is also in Premier League, it’s got to ridiculous levels. I genuinely can’t remember that stuff happening consistently in Germany, Spain or even Italy.

The powers that be have managed to create a toxic environment where state-owned clubs thrive - and on the day the main state-owned culprit loses, we get two and quite possibly three horrendous decisions against us, leading to our loss. How do we fight that?!

I’ve not noticed it elsewhere, yes in La Liga you get some odd decisions but I probably watch as much of that and Bundesliga as I do PL and it’s far worse here.

Nothing will get better, we’ve had 3 seasons of it and its been shite.

We would all get sacked at work dor performances and errors like this, but VAR and the refs just get away with it week after week.

But u didn’t win…VAR have just admitted it, we won on, fight, togetherness, teamwork and walking off the pitch with our heads held high…your lot danced around like pillocks…

There is a reason none of big teams wanted him and today showed why.

More unlikeable than Richarlison.

Overrated anyway. Just a matter of time before he does a Barkley, Alli, Hudson-Odoi…

Dickhead…and u Maddison started the whining to the ref about the Curtis foul…you fucking shit stirrer…

I think they showed their level today and it’s not really much higher than we have faced.

Shame they went ahead of Arsenal.

Now it feels like this was our “punishment” for daring to beat Newcastle even though we were one man (unfairly) and one goal down.

Newcastle are the new darlings

Better I will stop watching football for few months. Performance not up to mark is fine but these kind of referring is so hard to digest. Honestly taking a toll on our lives without us even realizing it. The amount of anger and adrenaline isn’t good week in and out. Cheers guys! Will just follow the scores for the time being.

I feel the same, I’ll watch the Europa but I think I’ll pass on Brighton and the Derby.

I’m with you mate. Ruined my evening. Last time we had a decent result at spurs was our league winning season. We always get shite calls and challenges u punished against us there. Which is why I was nervous today. Never in my wildest nightmares did I expect two red cards and a clear inside goal chalked off

I’ll stick to Thursdays

We did have a decent one there last year. But yeah I think you have to go back to the Mourinho games to find one that wasn’t decided by some shit.

I’m glad I’ve successfully suppressed most of last season

Lost more than three points tonight.

Lost two players and missed out on leading the table and confidence boost.

Doubt we will be able to take the lead soon - probably won’t throughout the season.

How can we forget Rodri’s handball against Everton mate. It’s still in my head. You feel stuck for months pondering over it without even realising it. Definitely takes a toll on our health.

Rodri handball, Kane’s non-red, Robbo red, Ali getting manhandled for the West Ham away goal, Hendo nearly getting his leg chopped off by the West Ham scouser and nothing.
