Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

I must be watching a different game

I’ll hazard a guess you only started watching from the 2nd half?

Luton got a little more fire in their bellies now it’s 11v10 but they’re still standing off watching as Spurs keep the ball. A good little 10 min spell doesn’t account for the fact they’ve been absolute dogshite.

Luton have created decent chances 11 v 10, but the finishing has been woeful. Might have gotten something out of this.

Harry Maguire makes his first Premier League start of the season as Erik ten Hag makes two changes to the Manchester United side that lost 3-2 to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Maguire is joined in central defence by Jonny Evans, with Hannibal Mejbri dropping to the bench and Raphael Varane missing out with a minor issue.

Manchester United XI: Onana, Evans, Maguire, Lindelof, Dalot, Casemiro, Mount, Amrabat, Bruno Fernandes, Hojlund, Rashford

Subs: Bayindir, Martial, Eriksen, Garnacho, Antony, Pellestri, Van de Beek, McTominay, Mejbri

Sorry, but there’s no excuses for that lineup. Ten Hag has run those players ragged by not rotating well, and not playing anyone from the academy bar Mejbri. You’re telling me they don’t have a single academy defender to sit on the bench tonight?

Onana, Casemiro, Mount, Bruno, and Rashford have all been completely shit in every match this season, but they’ll never be dropped because Eric hasn’t a clue what else to do.

I believe I called this, I said Ten Hag would get found out this season and he has. The cunt.

Las Palmas, Heidenheim and Le Havre weren’t the smallest budget in the second division.

Yes Luton are rubbish, but I don’t know what you expect from them. They got promoted by playing this way and rode a wave that got them to the Premier League.

They’re giving the players that got them there a chance to prove that some of them can live at this level. The modest money spent on signings this summer were geared towards making a side that be in the playoff hunt again in 24/25 after they get relegated.

Now we gotta deal with Spurs fans boasting about how they’re top of the table for the next 24hrs, well done Luton for absolutely nothing…useless bag of old cement.

Not surprised that Spurs won at Luton even 10 vs. 11 - they have had so many things go their way this year, not the least being down to 10 against a side that is highly likely to go down. Statistically, it’s technically possible that the trend continues, but a regression to the mean is far more likely. :crossed_fingers:

People fawning over Spurs since that win against United, but they don’t look anywhere near as good as people are making out to me.

They don’t need to be good, with the decisions they are getting in their favour.

They’ve done ok, Ange has done well but nothing more…after all they’ve now played 4 of the 5 teams that will finish in the bottom 5 this season. 4 teams that have won about 1 game between them…and that was when they faced each other.

Already out of a cup & they don’t even have Europe to contend with.

Apparently, this is Tottenham’s best start to a season since 1960. So you can understand their optimism and the hype. Looks like they will they will be a threat, but it is only October after all.

It may only be October, but Luton are obviously going down. They can’t even hit the target, never mind score. Unless they’re playing Everton, of course.

You’d think they’d be more cautious about that optimism with a stat like that.

I honestly think they’ll finish outside the top 5.

To me they look like they can’t afford injuries or absences to anyone in that first 11, which will inevitably happen.

How have we spent over £200 million on new players this summer and our starting CB’s are Harry Maguire and Evans…? That’s just negligence by the club, injuries or no injuries.

Lindelof left-back, Maguire on the right

Man Utd 0-0 Brentford

Simon Stone

BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Victor Lindelof has lined up at left-back and Harry Maguire is the right-sided central defender.

A few ‘wooaaaaahhs’ from the Brentford support when the ball was rolled to Andre Onana just then in recognition of the Manchester United goalkeeper’s recent problems.

Blueshite take the league :0(

Bournemouth rolling over again for Everton, the stupid cunts are the reason they’re not in the championship.

So much for Iraola being the man to take them to new heights, yeah good job Foley you divvy twat.

Burnley :sunglasses:

Burnley 1-0 up against Chelsea.
