They tried it a few years ago, first couple of weeks of the season had about 12 penalties then they went back to refereeing it how they did previously.

I honestly don’t know because the VAR didn’t show enough of the sequence to judge the impact. Was he genuinely impeded? Did it impact his ability to get tot the ball? From those very abbreviated replays I honestly dont know
Certainly the dive was not commensurate with the contact, which is supposed to be a prime consideration

I don’t think he was going to be able to get to the ball - looked beyond him to me. There is a grab of the shirt obviously but Rodri was certainly keen to use it to go down.
As @mattyhurst said, if anything I think the penalty should have been given for the headlock Maguire was doing in the background.

It is a foul technically but as you look at the corner there is at least two others and one that’s arguably worse and I bet every corner has 2-3.
I really don’t think it has enough for VAR to intervene plus it’s not a clear goal scoring chance if not impeded.
There was much worse during our match today.
I have no problem with the call. But the officials need to be consistent.

Goes down as a great save, but there is just something unconvincing to me about Ederson when it comes to his shot stopping.
