Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

Do Sky post match reporters purposely ask the daftest of questions?

Really rubbing it into Keane’s face with the Man U results (Jamie and Micah smirking)

A damn fine evening !

I can’t remember which match it was when they were last that weakened and I expected them to drop points, only for them to ultimately smash the opposition. Maybe some game at Leicester a few years back, I genuinely can’t remember…

Anyway, I hope it’s not the case now. Aston Villa actually tried to play them both times in 2021/22, Chukwuemeka should have scored the equaliser at Villa Park but it was not meant to be for us. They have much higher ambitions this time around, they are larger than the sum of their parts and Watkins is on fire. I don’t know if they have what it takes to take points off City but they can at least rattle them if they keep up their home performances. I’m sure they won’t just back off and hope for the best, especially when City are without world’s best defensive midfielder (and I’m not taking anything away from Doku and Grealish but he’s in a league of his own).

I didn’t like angry Magnus.

They will give them a game. Villa seem to be weaker on the road but not at any particularly odd level.

Saying that Liverpool are 10th best but one win would put us 2nd so I assume it’s hitting a fair few teams.

There is no fucking way that was a penalty against Milner. No fucking way. Absolute bollocks. Might as well disallow shoulder to shoulder challenges then

Jermaine Jenas, who is part of that respect referees campaign thingy…

Just said on MOTD that City handled the error well. I guess he was talking about the post-match interviews…

Stealing a living, that bloke.

Wish he would stay on the one show.

I could totally ignore him then.

Remember him saying this just 10weeks ago… The guy is just a fraud

Jenas used an abusive term on X, formerly Twitter, and added ā€œthey’re [referees] all ruining our gameā€ after Jones awarded Arsenal a penalty in Sunday’s north London derby draw. The former England midfielder had been criticised by refereeing bodies.25 Sept 2023

Bloody hell, (old) new manager bounce just before they play us!

Typical isn’t it.

Least Elbow McBurnie is out banned so can’t hurt our lads.

I wonder if more stuff like this will catch on before The Cheaters have to face their charges… The bigger the groundswell, the more pressure it brings on the PL to act in a positive way for the whole of football

I’ve seen that a few times, over the past week. The same coach company each time.

Except the loudest shouts about it being corrupt are from Everton fans and city fans, the latter of whom this weekend have just found out that refs can make bad decisions against you.

The reaction to the city game though tells you just how bad a league (and its stake holders, many of whom stoke controversy for attention) has got itself into. Fans of pretty much every single club laughed away the complaints of city fans. Not because they were not legit, but because now city fans know how it feels to be a fan of [insert premier league club here] and have a coordinated vendetta from the refs against you. A dont know where a competition goes when fan sentiment is like that

Doubt he will be in place before we face them.

Society is pretty much like that these days.

In a way it’s better value because those none Saturday 3pm games will now be shown plus it’s less broadcasters involved.

Not sure who writes this stuff

TNT retaining the 12.30pm kick-off slot on a Saturday points towards Sky continuing the current trend of screening EFL matches at that time.

Yeah that’s exactly what’s happening, Sky have a deal to show 6 FL matches every Saturday at 12.30 from next season

How do these shitty fans make this so quickly? Entitled pricks. Still, it’s not gonna bring those dropped points back…
