It’s that Europa playoff round we avoided by winning the group.
That Welbeck header is ridiculously good.
Two terrible misses by Eze moments before prove costly.
Dean-o you lucky boy. Wtf was that
Eze with a sub appearance on the level of Andy Carroll away at Stamford Bridge, absolutely dreadful. Palace lucky to escape that with a point.
Unai Emery could take Villa top tonight if they win - well done him
Almost certain to do so, they have been fierce at Villa Park, Sheffield United have been to my eyes the weakest side in the league by some margin.
I don’t particularly want them to win anything, but seeing them in the upper half of the table feels about right in a traditional sense.
Don’t particularly want anyone apart from us to win anything, surely?
Would be gutted if Cheaty drop the league and it wasn’t us; but can’t see Villa winning it (or FA Cup) as worse than, for instance, Arsenal under mini-pep.
I thought Spurs won the league in September??
Yeah although Man U won it first, in July.
If you told me that Liverpool wouldn’t win the title but that I got to pick another team to win, I’d pick Villa. I’ve always had massive respect for them, in the same way that I used to have respect for Newcastle. Arsenal would be distant second and there wouldn’t be a third choice!
Right, but if Villa were to win something, it would be reasonably benign compared to the steady rot of Citeh winning and making a mockery of regulation. If it came down to Villa or City on the last day, Villa all the way. One of the great old clubs of the game in one of the great old barns would be a story.
In terms of the likelihood, agreed - Villa have done incredibly well to get where they are, but I just don’t see them able to sustain it through to May.
Unai Emery landed at Villa, 6months AFTER Ten Blag landed at OT… Just saying
Nah, I would not be arsed at all if they won that Conference League.
If Man City don’t win the league and we don’t capitalize, I would have Villa or Spurs. Villa are a good club, a big club, nice traditions, and they are doing very well. Spurs have gone up in my book too, under top red Postecoglu. They play nice attacking football and the manager seems like a good bloke.
After that, Arsenal, I suppose. Definitely better than Man City winning it, but I don’t like Arteta.

I’m behind Villa, would very much like them in the top 4 come the end of the season. Up the Villa tonight.
Larouci started well here, including dealing with being double teamed by Bailey and Diaby.
In game consistency is one of his biggest weaknesses but hopefully he can keep it up.
Yeah agree obviously prefer Villa to lurk around the 4 above Chelsea and United.
But the Argie GK is still a fuckwit.
I kept up with most of the first half with the BBC commentary and they suggested Villa were incredibly hard done by to not get one penalty out of the two shouts they had. Just caught up - they were both really weak shouts. Another example of the trap people have fallen into of no longer knowing how to talk about football without complaining about VAR for [waves hands].
Bit of a nothing half that. Neither side has done anything of note other than Luiz squaring up to Norwood.
