I really don’t get all the people writing off Arsenal. Yes, they missed out last season, but that doesn’t mean they’ll do the same this time. If teams just repeated their performance every season it would be a dull spectacle.
They have significantly improved on last season and are playing well. Exciting as it was, we just scraped a win over a relegation candidate with a 99th minute goal, they dismantled similar opponents with style. They are the only team who have outplayed us and beaten us fair and square this season. Yes, they may stumble, but so might we. Our injuries mean we are clinging on at the moment, they are cruising. That will change, but they are serious contenders.
A historic moment:
Congratulations.
Indeed, it’s good to see some new faces. I’m assuming that we will be stuck with the same useless bald twats?
All I can say is don’t underestimate arsenal. There is a reason they dropped off last season and it was the injury to saliba. Arsenal don’t have many key injuries this time around and are in great form. They scored the most and conceded the least.
They will have a go at city for sure
With Arsenal as part of the threesome, it seems to take the pressure of the absoluteness of the outcome of the matchs between Liverpool and city. I think it plays into our hands to an extent as City pretty much target the Liverpool games as being of the highest priority in terms of intensity and prep.
Yes it is the same for all three but we’re ahead and just getting our game out of the way (W, L or D) puts pressure on their game!
All very unpredictable at the moment.
We have the injuries. We’re in the FA Cup. We’re likely to go far in the EL. We don’t seem to win our games ‘easy’. Officials and media try to make it as difficult as possible for us.
Arsenal have no injuries. No FA Cup. Might be out of the CL next week. Are free scoring at the moment.
City are winning their games at the moment. No injuries but are likely to go far in FA Cup and CL.
If I’m being honest I don’t feel like we will win the most points from the final 9 league games.
But a win on Sunday could be a huge boost for that and I’m actually pretty confident.
Want to add
Both teams will try to win the game on Sunday. Pep doesn’t play for a draw.
Can not say the same about Arteta when they play against City after the international break.
If Liverpool beat City…fingers crossed
Then the best outcome for us is that City beat Arsenal.
That establishes 4 points over City and 5 over Arsenal if all other results are matched.
It gives us a cushion going into last 8 or 9 games.
Might just be me but, over the years, we seem to have more persistent injuries than any of the top clubs in this league. Granted that JK’s all-action football must put a strain on players’ overall fitness during a season, but other clubs play a similar style and don’t appear to suffer the same squad attrition.
Thoughts?
Who plays a similar style?
Pretty sure we played by far the most games from all PL teams since Klopp took over.
Why is that? Because we reached many European finals and domestic cup finals.
Cheaty and Arsenal both play a high line defence and intensively press the opposition. Even Southampton do it. In fact, any club with trophy ambitions can’t afford not to in the modern game imo, because they need to gain/regain possession as quickly as possible in order to dominate.
City under Pep has 20 games less (455) than Liverpool under Klopp (475), but Klopp was in his job 8 months before Pep took over. Klopp managed 52 games in his first season after he took over in October.
Have the feeling United will comfortably win.
Two evenly matched teams lining up here.
I think Everton have the better bench strength though.
Everton are so so bad
So brainless from Tarkowski.
Yeah. Trex guessed right on the penalty but his arms were too short.
You could have ended your post right there
If Utd play this way next week, they’re going to get heavily embarrassed.
I mean they’re probably going to get embarrassed anyway.
Yeah , they are getting out pressed by Everton of all sides.
