Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

Thing is, Ayew is on a yellow and he was wrestling with Saka earlier and could have easily received a second yellow.

Terrible second yellow

God that’s a terrible yellow to have given.

Totally agree but he was stupid to get the first one. Save your yellow for when you might need to actually pull someone back. Not for delaying on a throw.

If I was a betting man I’d put money on Coote evening this up by sending off Ayew

What is actually the permitted time allowed per throw in/goal kick before a player gets booked? Or does the ref just decide for himself based on crowd reactions etc. Obviously no player wants to be booked because you took a few seconds longer to take a throw, it’s ridiculous the amount of cards we’re seeing because of it.

Partey a very lucky boy.

Don’t think that’s too dissimilar to the 1 we saw on Szobo tbh.

Eze could have kept going there

Jammy Arsenal

No dive. No pen. Partey should have seen a yellow card.

Ref tonight has actually been far more lenient than refs in other games.

Trent got a yellow at 0-0 against Chelsea in the first half lol

Whatever the fuck the ref wants. It’s also massively influenced by the ref’s reading of the game. A team viewed to be trying to hold on will be treated more harshly so a team pushing for a win will be given more leeway to get their set up right. It’s one of those things that looks like a common sense approach but is a blind spot. As we saw with with Trent’s yellow last week the call for him to get it in kind of came from no where

And that right there is precisely why contact is not automatically a foul.

It’s just a load of bollocks tbh, would he have received that yellow if we were chasing the game for example? Complete load of tosh.

Our commentary raving about Nketiah being smart winning that free kick knowing there was no support.

That is “I dont think very clearly” for “that was a dive”

Seems to be 0 impetus from Palace to really try and put Arsenal under pressure

Where is Benteke when you need him.

Bit of a sitter that for Edouard, super ball in by Mitchell.

This Palace side seems rather average.

Pretty average the Palace side. Shouldn’t be a problem. I think Anderson was impressive though.

Not been the slightest bit impressed with Arsenal so far.
