Premier League 2023/24 (Part 1)

Loads of passing with no real meaning. Not seeing how Havertz fits in. Saka’s going wider and wider which isn’t what he should be doing. Rice seems to have slotted in well.

Rice certainly seems to be the best of their signings so far.

how did doucoure do tonight

Didn’t notice him so make of that what you will

Havertz is absolutely shite.

Arsenal had their pants pulled down.

He’s like the German Morata, keeps getting these big moves for absurd prices and no one can quite understand how.

It’s like he just walked around in midfield and they all passed around him. Only thing he did was what shite volley attempt and getting a yellow card for kicking the ball away after he fouled the Palace player

The midfield was too crowded for any player (on either side) to see much of the ball. Arsenal really didn’t pose too much of a direct threat often enough to really trouble the palace defense and their defensive midfielders. Just one of those boring games where the superior team goes and passes the ball incessantly without having the killer touch.

He’s a passenger, doesn’t look to get involved at all. Only times I noticed him were when he was asking the ref for Ayew to be booked and then getting booked himself for kicking the ball away.

Yup. Bissouma looked way better but then again that’s the Man Unmidfield

Palace should have deployed Eze like they did Zaha, he can cause havoc in 1 v 1 or even 1 v 2 situations

If United start with that midfield of Casemiro , Mount , Bruno again , any PL side not named Everton would rip through that provided they survive the first 30 min.

Anyone else think T-Rex should have seen a red for that wild swipe when he conceded a penalty? He was very lucky he didn’t connect with Watkins’ head, could have knocked him out (I know he has short arms and all but Watkins was rushing in)

I did ask that question on Saturday. Definitely a red card for me.

Sorry, Sunday.

Yeah pretty much posted it at the time he was miles late on it.

T Rex is coward… Simple as that
Tommy Lawrence and Gordon West, both brave goalkeepers - Never ever went about trying to hurt anyone
Short Arms tries to injure everyone that comes near him

Think of the damage done if he had normal size arms.

Think City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and United will win their games at the weekend so three points on the road would be great for us.

Maybe he’d have less of a small-armed-man complex and would actually be a calmer nicer bloke.

Nah…

The application of the YC for time wasting on Trent was actually out of context and quite stupid.

A ref that is paying attention can see in any game the context in which a team may look to waste time. Take a team like Brentford or Villa.

Yes TAA takes a little too long to take throw-ins but its not in the context of deliberate time wasting, as you would see wrt Brentford especially in their games vs the big 6…

A ref who is in tune with the game would hurry him up initially and then card him if he persists…

The way they’re applying this atm makes zero sense and I suspect its one of those things that will simply fade away like Mike Dean’s award of PKs for contact in the box…
