Premier League 2024/25 (Part 1)

Konate played 90 against Southampton. His first game out we beat City 2-0 and also kept clean sheet in CL. It’s just the Newcastle and Fulham games we’ve comceded. We obv miss Konate but there are other factors in those results, and they actually might look like important points come the end of the season

Both Roberson and Bradley were exhausted vs Southampton after International break.

@mattyhurst @WeeJoe True, thanks for pointing that out - I completely forgot about it, I could have sworn that Konate played.

Still, the subsequent games have me worrying - our team tends to pick up injuries in numbers (which is the case with defence right now) and then it has an impact later in the season when fatigue accumulates.

I think let’s see what happens.

I think our chances of top 3 increased this weekend.

Somebody tell me when it’s time to work my ‘magic’ on Chelsea :grimacing:

Now….

Let’s face it an Everton win against Chelsea that benefits us is highly amusing.

Yeah and we then have to go to WHL to play a Jekyll and Hyde side with extra pressure and the narrative that the 10 point turnaround is akin to us bottling it.
Massive game coming up if we are serious front runners.

Let the games actually take place.

I might take myself away from here. The reactions are silly.

Reactions?

You’re forgetting all the pre- and in-match bedwetting.

He can be Bill Oddie, with Klopptimist as Tim Brooke-Taylor and ISMF as Graeme Garden.

I understand concern given how defender injuries have impacted us in the past. But getting Jota back is a huge boost. The fight we showed in adversity on Saturday actually gives me more hope for our title challenge

Some are stressie bessies…some are sensitive…we are all an eclectic mix…laugh at some or think pinch of salt…I think I come under stressy bessy at penalties…

Yeah I was quite cheered by our fight on Saturday.

It’s still very much in our hands. If we looked totally pants then I’d be concerned but we could have won both.

Whatever Spurs maybe buoyed by we owe the fuckers a beating.

It’s Spurs. We can burst their buoyancy in the first 10mins

I don’t watch any penalties for us.

I look for a cushion…

Not possible to underestimate Chelsea now.

Yes they lack experience (players and manager) but they are basically able to fully concentrate on the league.

  • out of the League Cup already.

  • huge squad which means they will easily make it to the late stages of the Conference League with a second team.

  • that second team will also be used against Morecambe in the FA Cup.

  • lucky with injuries.

Everton vs Chelsea
Spurs vs Liverpool

Chelsea vs Fulham
Liverpool vs Leicester

West Ham vs Liverpool
Ipswich vs Chelsea

Palace vs Chelsea
Liverpool vs ManU

Fully expect them to take over top spot a few times temporarily in the coming weeks.

Kind of feel they would struggle in some areas if they were to get injuries.

None of those games look easy for them. We’ll soon find out what they’re really made of.
