Premier League 2024/25 (Part 1)

That’s why Thomas doesn’t finish his plate.

Trump will be making an announcement that he intends to annex that plate.

The Andy Carroll one does amuse me. I can’t help but :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

We called him Lucho
He came from Porto
He came to score
Came to score
Came to score, score, score
Luis Diaz
He’s from Barrancas
Now he plays for Liverpool
La la la la

Has Kylie Minogue hacked your account?

What about this Pulp version then?

He came from Colombia, he had a thirst for glory
He played with passion and rewrote the story
That’s when we
Saw him fly

He told us he’d been dreaming of Anfield nights
With goals and skills that light up the sky
He knew why
We cheered high

(Chorus)
Sing with Luis, like the common people
Cheer with Luis, as he beats the cheaters
Skill and flair, he’s the Reds’ delight
Luis Díaz, making Anfield bright

He dances past defenders, they don’t know what to do
With every dribble, fans fall more in love with you
You’re so fast
It’s all class

We’ll sing his name until the end of the day
Luis Díaz, in red, just blows us away
On the wing
He makes us sing

(Chorus)
Sing with Luis, like the common people
Cheer with Luis, as he beats the cheaters
Skill and flair, he’s the Reds’ delight
Luis Díaz, making Anfield bright

Chris Wood has signed a new contract with Forest until 2027.

Interesting. The last few days there has been a couple of forwards in the Prem linked with a move to Forest this window. I wonder if that is linked.

Maybe they want another forward regardless. Wood’s not the youngest and they might have European football next season.

West Ham have let Steidten go, their Technical Director. It was a weird tenure. He brought in some really good players, but had a terrible relationship with Moyes and then Lopetegui, and Potter brought in someone with him who was earmarked to do this role.

Perhaps this was the reason for the delay in Potter taking over from Lopetegui…it is interesting given how Steidten’s arrival was meant to lead to a more effective transfer policy but instead has seen it become a mess with that breakdown with successive coaches?

Not sure how much of it was his fault but understandable why Potter might only commit if he had his own man in there.

It seems a bit of an example of teams trying to adopt a more modern distributed leadership model but not really committing to it. A manager coming in and bringing with them their own DoF is basically an old fashioned manager led hierarchy but with the chief scout given a grander title.
