Referees instructed to clamp down on holding at corners, but Arsenal are still allowed to foul the goalkeeper everytime with no punishment
Well they do that shortly before shooting horses so I hope they have something else planned for his treatment.
Arsenal up already. Pretty basic goal, but havertz playing up top instead of Jesus scoring with a textbook striker goal bodes well for them.
Brighton scored
Red card for Schar, could be an opening day shock on the cards.
I’d love to see Southampton do well this season. They have a lot of good young players who will be interesting to watch
Three games so far and each has had the commentators talking about the “higher bar this season for var intervention.”
There is no higher bar. This is a total fabrication. They have just changed the language used from Clear and obvious to referees call to help better communicate to the fans the intention of how it is used
lol. I ducking hate those red cards. Refs are so ducking stupid as is everyone who reports it was a headbut. The only thing that defines that as a headbuts is the ref choose to give a red card for a player throwing themselves to the ground when everyone knows there was no headbut
Unfortunately that’s the polar opposite of pundits.
Saw the Schar red card.
disgraceful playacting.
Hearing of a leg break for Danilo? Not sure I want to see this back.
Real shame for him if so.
Good work VAR.
Penalty for Everton
Shameless dive.
If there’s no contact, then DCL needs to be booked for simulation.
Justice served. DCL went down quicker then the proverbial
Love a red card like that (in games we aren’t involved in). Absolute stupidity by Schar, fantastic shithousery by Diaz. Makes himself a pantomime villain, creates an electric atmosphere, needle in the tunnel at half time…a narrative created in a game that would otherwise have been a drab formality.
I’m good with Brereton being given a season long ban for that.
