All teams do, some teams go through 2 or 3 though.
Thats the benefit of the gap. It’s far from won especially with the injuries but enjoy it as far as it goes.
I am happy to see the less manic approach in the last 20. I think it should help us but let’s see what happens. We’ve stepped up when the game demands it.
Understood, and normally I would agree. But I do it anyway. This time
Crazy ? Maybe. Irrational, I don’t think so. But of course. Am I speculating with my prediction? Sure. But am I doing any harm (no comment from the goats and the hen) ? I don’t think so. Allow me my fun.
To be clear, I do think we will go on a bad run. Even so, even so. We must go on a very long bad run and others must go on nigh perfect long runs.
I have cast my dice (and murdered a few goats and hen). If the gods decide to be not sated by such a magnanimous sacrifice, then so be it
Anyway.
It’s just what I think (ok, maybe I don’t think or want something spectacularly cruel and evil to happen to people in manchester, but apart from that). And I am just having a bit of fun saying aloud what I think
It is very early, and there’s plenty of scope for things to go tits up. And yes, the officials do not ref us evenly either.
But the thing that gives me most hope is our performance level is improving, and we are taking the best bits of Klopp and adding something more with Slot I.e. a bit more calm, control, and composure.
We look like we can go for the jugular, and we do; and we also look fairly comfortable passing it around and defending as needed for a stint, and we do.
Arsenal are the ones who could possibly derail this. They look poised to go on a long run, and I will be a happy man if a resurgent/deluded Man Utd team get something from them midweek.
There are two things that worry me the most when it comes to this team’s title credentials: the fact that they always suffer from injuries (currently, world’s best goalkeeper, three out of eight defenders and two out of six forwards are all injured) and they will have to play the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford away in the second half of the season.
Injuries worry me more, though, because of the imminent schedule - Newcastle and especially Everton away will be extremely tough fixtures.
Every team suffers injuries. It’s such an absurd worry when without state-backed sportwashing cheating, we would have won at least a couple more titles rather comfortably. Arteta and Guardiola have been whining over less.
I agree. Serious injury to VVD, Mo, or Mac Allister/Gravenberch would be a real handicap. We know what injuries did to us in 20/21 when we had just steamrollered the league.
That’s why I won’t even think about the title yet.
