Racism and all the bad -isms

I mock everybody. But I don’t pull trans people out for special treatment. Think you are whatever you want, sleep with who you want (how long till that 16 limit starts to get questioned. We all KNOW right now that somethings are just wrong. Right? And that’s a hill I will die on) enjoy yourself, great.

But don’t tell me I can’t say breast feeding if that’s what you’re doing. I’m not having the emperor’s new clothes on this. If you’ve just had a baby, you’re a woman. You might not like it, you might not identify it, but you are. The left’s mad campaign on this subject it to some of us, madness. Have you seen libs of tictok? I identify as a cat and you must use my pro-nouns. What’s the difference?

Ah done all this before, we just disagree. You swear and rant about it and it’s obvious it really upsets you. Doesn’t upset me, I just think it’s crazy (aren’t I lucky with my white privilege) There are children in America currently have healthy breasts cut off and having chemical castration drugs pumped into them. Tell me that’s not so their parents can look trendy and I’ll show you stories of those who do.

I met a guy in the US once who spent his weekends smeared in bear shit in a hut in the woods dressed as a character from the 1700s as he was convinced that was who he was. He knew his identity, his history, his parents, his skills and was utterly convinced of this. His wife was there too. There were rules in the relationship but she humoured him. We obviously thought he was mad as a hatter. You would though wouldn’t you. Not so mad that he wanted surgery to remove healthy body parts. Maybe we should have believed everything he said and played along? Diversity and inclusion and all that?

At what point do we say the emperor has no clothes on? I know where my line is, wonder if you have one?

As far as I’m aware, you’re not transgendered. So how do you know what offends them?

This taking offence on behalf of other people (and I’m talking about a general trend here, not you specifically) really pisses me off.

Closer than the link between homosexuality and transsexuality though. No?

I don’t doubt for a minute that you know people, or have found a stat that backs up your blatant discrimination against Audi drivers, which will prove it as fact that they are the worst.

The Roy ‘chubby’ Brown defence. I’m not racist - I make fun out of white peoples too. I’m not homophobic - I make fun of straight people as well.

You’re making a link between transgendered people and paedophilia? What a wonderful human being you are.

No-one is saying you can’t say breast feeding. The NHS still used the term breast feeding. The only place I can find where it refers to Chest feeding is on a page specifically to give advice to transgendered people.

I’d suggest that if you come across someone breast feeding and for some reason feel the need to engage them in conversation on the matter (which is a whole other story) and in the course of that conversation they ask if you’d refer to it as chest feeding, because they feel more comfortable that way, the kind thing to do is call it chest feeding to them. If you know anything at all about breast feeding, you’d know it’s an incredibly fragile thing, with the feeders comfort and confidence absolutely critical to the process. If you choose at that point to launch into a Clarkson-esque rant that ‘it’s breast feeding blah biah only women have babies blah blah you couldn’t make it up blah blah Pc gone mad blah blah’ not only are you being a bellend, you are also likely damaging that persons ability to feed, and harming the baby. So well done on that.

No I’m not. I’m wondering which of the things we all know are wrong (as you pointed out was the case with being gay and trans) will next be questioned.

Just experience trying to drive within the law. Whenever I get hassle because I’m only going 70 on a motorway, it always an Audi.

But it’s OK. Audi drivers are doing just fine. And the car you drive isn’t a protected characteristic under the equalities act, so I think I’m OK.

More bollocks. Mrs did it like a duck to water, fed Jnr for months so it’s really very easy and saying otherwise flies in the face of my dominant lived experience. So there.

And she did too.

You and your experiences :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Likewise.

I drive a Ford, and have found the worst bellend drivers on the road to be Vauxhall drivers.

I don’t have any facts to back that up either.

If you actually thought about this for a second you’d perhaps realise societies position on sexual consent issues is going in a very singular and particular direction. There is more chance of the age of consent being raised that being is lowered at this point. We are more aware of the vulnerability of young people in sexual relationships than we ever have been.

The other reason it’s a crass example to draw is because sexual attitudes towards children are always used insidiously to suggest deviancy in a sexual preference. It isn’t that long since gay people were prohibited from working with children. You raising it in the context of a discussion about transgendered people is at best misguided, and at worst downright shitty.

Mine found it really hard and we had to go to loads of workshops and sessions on breast feeding, so I’ve a little experience of what I’m talking about.

I have no doubt that the reason why the NHS will talk about chest feeding to transgendered people is because primarily that’s in the best interests of the baby.

This isn’t the trans thread. If it were your last point would be sound.

Personally I think it’s insane that you’re not considered to have the metal capacity or responsibility to drive, smoke, gamble, drink or vote at 16 but you can take on the world’s greatest personal and social responsibility. Utter madness. Raising the age won’t stop kids doing what kids do. Having said that, given that Jnr is 15, I’d raise it to 25 and bring in shooting people for sex outside marriage. (no offence)

OK possibly a tactless example. Just pulled up the obvious thing that everybody knows is wrong.

SNP tried that desperation tactic in 2014.
STV even broadcast Braveheart the night before

Immediate aftermath, despite democracy being fulfilled, we want a re-vote.

I’m sure socialists would love it. People get more conservative as they get wiser. Sorry, older.

Shudder to think the state of Scotland right now if SNP had won in 2014.
Massive downturn in oil & gas, followed by Covid.
Country would be bankrupt.

Guarantee if Westminster funding was there no longer, free bus & train travel, free prescriptions and free university fees would be amongst the first things to go.

Careful what you wish for.

And I agree with you. But there is a mismatch between biology and what we consider as a society to be culturally acceptable. We consider a human being having a baby at 12 years old an appalling outcome. Biology has little problem with it.

It’s why I find the ‘it’s a biological fact’ argument in the trans debate so fucking stupid. There are so many ways that we actively and deliberately challenge biological reality in favour of a more caring and fair outcome.

The entirety of human progress is a battle against biology. Fighting disease. Sanitation and public health. Extending lifespan. Creating a criminal justice system. Age of consent. The concept of ‘leisure time’. So on and so on.

We shout about biological reality only when it suits our prejudice.

I have read this. I’m not responding to it.

We should move on.

The biggest downturn was as a result of Brexit so chances are they would be in a better position. Scotland has always been a net exporter.

Downturn started late 2014.
I’ve seen enough of the peaks and troughs in that industry to recognise the signs.
It had taken hold well before the Brexit referendum
