wife wants some pasta.
The old jokes are always the best… :0)

Saw some footage of his first day at Celta.
He did manage to lose a bit of weight lately.
I had 3 cups of coffee today. Also ate a magnum. Just saying.
Hopefully he will be successful there.

Unfortunately that’s not been the case

Sounds like some bad luck along the way. Rafa always seems to require time to get his teams firing…but seems the pressure is really on right now.
He probably should look to call it a day and enjoy his retirement as a pundit.
I love Rafa, but that’s not a bad shout. Retire and give expert analysis, which would surely up the level of any studio panel he sat on.
I would have loved to see how Rafa would have done under FSG - a sensible ownership group, at the stage when they were getting recruitment and analysis right, and then add Rafa to the mix.
He won an epic CL against the odds and went very close to the Prem. At his worst he got a bit too embroiled in the politicking within football, but he was right to fight G&H as they were a cancer on the club.
He ended up getting more than his fair share of iffy jobs in less than great circumstances, but to my mind, he is one of the best coaches and tacticians I have seen.

He loves football. But I think most of all if you were to identify a weakness in him it would be over rating the impact of tactics and preparation over talent. I think that is what has made him take too rosy a perspective on his ability to succeed at places that just werent set up and ready for success
BBC have always been quick to criticise him.
Look at their results - they’ve lost close games: 3-2 away at Barca, 1-0 at home to Real, 1-0 away at table topping Girona, 4-3 away at 5th place Bilbao.
A couple of wins and they’ll be in mid-table.
But he’s just a fat Spanish waiter… Certainly not capable of imbibing pints of wine like Sir Samuel Allerdicei
They threw that Barca game away.
But yeah the quality for them isn’t great.

Rafa would have fallen out with FSG…
Celta has struggled in the last few seasons, and they haven’t strengthened the squad. So their struggles this season was inevitable. Rafa is just taking the fall.
Iconic Spanish manager and serial winner shares with Rob Draper the intricacies of his unceasing passion for coaching and his love of Jamie Carragher
Well worth a read.

Celta have sacked Rafa.
Knock it on the head now Rafa, mate.
Time to call it a day Rafa.
You’ve had a great run.
