Ramadan Thread-

My mum taught in a Roman Catholic school and I am currently working in Roman Catholic school. I have been to more Masses than my boss who is a lapsed Catholic. Ironically i used to get As in R.E as i was in a mixed school, we had kids from different denominations such as orthodox, baptists and C of E. So i understand the full rituals. I was always very intrigued about the ritualism of Catholicism. My auntie is practicising Catholic.

The hymns are more modern now and mass is all in english instead of latin. My school is quite progressive for a Catholic school.

Thank you for your insight.
To clarify, are you UK based? It is just your reference to Latin masses has made me second guess myself and my presumption.

I bumped into an old school friend the other day and he is a teacher. A few years older than me but like myself RC. He has always taught at Christian schools but recently moved to a School in the Sparkhill constituency of Birmingham - Which has a 70/80% Muslim demographic.
He said that despite initial reservations (across a broad spectrum) he was really enjoying his new role.
For me it is all about respect really and understanding. Like with the stoppages in football for the break in fast.
From a personal experience, my Girlfriend and I were in Turkey last week. At the airport we had an issue, which took some time resolving. We were both hungry and had food available in our bags but held off eating out of respect.

How are we?
Another 6 or 7 more days to go now. On the home run.

I’m doing good (though I haven’t fasted all days). Interestingly (or shockingly), I’m not eager for Eid. Maybe it’s the age thing.

In London, the weather has been up and down, onr day sunshine, next blustery showers and windy weather

We used to have a 3-day vacation, the Eid day and one days each on the either sides of that. But it was very hazardous for millions who had to travel to their village homes. From last year, it’s been increased to seven days.

Man, I’m so glad the office is closed.
