Rio NGUMOHA: 2025/26

I have a soft spot for arrogant players like Mane and Suarez, kind of players who often turn up in hard situations - I much prefer that kind of them than nice guy like Gakpo, who tends to duck away from games.

True,it is often said a good player in most sports has a bit of mongrel in them, they have to .We only need to look at Robbo as an example, and we have had plenty of others.

Sorry but players like Robbo and Mane showed aggression, passion, tenacity, confidence but ultimately are respectable persons still off the field, treating the club and fans with respect. Suarez is nowhere comparable to them.

For me, it’s much more important that they show it on the pitch and it’s mainly on the ball there (which Jones and Ngumoha do possess), rather than in interviews. That’s much less important, even if I don’t mind a bit of honesty, ambition or humour. Confidence is the right word and balance for me. Gotta be able to be confident, back it up and also always remain humble enough.

Here here, a young lad with confidence as well as talent is great.
Some comments recently on this forum seem to come from a bunch of snow flakes.
I kept out of the Szoboszlai and other stuff. Mainly because I didn’t understand what all the fuss was about. Here we have a kid with talent and dreams. We should just hope he fulfils them .

That’s just soo BORING, BORING, BORING !

i know, I know…

but do your talking on the pitch son…

Some character in a squad is necessary. Having a youngster showing some shouldn’t be shouted down.
ā€˜Sould be seen and not heard’ should never have been a thing!

More discussion for a 17 year old saying this than Dom being an absolute cunt.

Anyway, what a goal.

Yep, the only important thing he said was ā€œLiverpool are the best club in the worldā€ which is the only thing worth repeating .

You’d be surprised how often I agree with you, I just don’t often say so :face_blowing_a_kiss:.
You did agree with me once before, last season, however I think you remained annoyed with me before that due to my nick name for Gravenberch, who by the way has become rubbish again :sob:.

But, but … that’s what started it all off .

Rio’s mismanagement.

Why can’t a young 18 year old last 90 mintes?

Surely if Rio’s game time had been managed better, considering he is our back up LW, surely he should be in a place where he can play a full game at this stage of the season.

He has looked the part in most of the games he has be used in, but his responding amount of minutes have been low and there hasn’t been much of a build up to get him up to a level so he can last 90 mins.

This is in stark contrast with how we have used both Isak and Macca game time to get match finess.

Again it all points to a lack of planning from a fitness and development point of view.

I know it’s a completely different level but at his age, I was playing 90 minutes, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning then out with the mates for a kickaround game in tne afternoon, and 2 of those games were in a good standard mens league.

We have a long trial of youngsters who ended up fucking ruined because they were over played. From Owen to Bajcetic.

He’s 17 and we have to trust that the sports science and medical staff know what they are doing.

They were played week in week out for a period, surely he can still be managed so that he can last 90 minutes!

Just look at Jamal, Musiala or Sterling and there are many more at his age that last 90 minutes.

Never mind the exertion, the type of high speed challenges that go into players alone is scary enough. And on a 17 year old teenager. He absolutely needs to be protected.
