Yep agree but prior to his last injury I thought he was getting back to the old Bobby we all know and love
Said pre game that I donāt like Bobby coming from the bench but when he came on we looked much better.
Not sure if I got this right but did he say āhe wants to stay and is open for a new contractā?
If true - coming from someone who had some injury problems and fell a bit back because Jota and DĆaz came in - thatās the kind of commitment we need.
He is probably the only one amongst our world class trio that won us everything who would be willing to stay for another 4-5 years until retirement or near retirement and be willing to play a role as a squad player. I hope he gets a new contract to bring him to 34-35 years old.
Itās folly to assume we understand what motivates players to make the decisions they make but Iād love bobby to stay. Down the stretch with the intensity of our game lacking we looked very uninspired. I think especially that Spurs game was crying out for someone to get the ball at his feet closer to the box. He might lose some of his energy over the next couple of years, but if this progression of our game remains he could still be a very valuable piece of that even as that decline sets in.
heās got that X-factor that we need, nobody plays that #9 role like he does for us right now. I wish heād have started that match and played Diaz off the bench to run at them when tired.
So poster boy his having a new hair cutā¦retro style rather like Bob used to have ā¦
Can we now sort his contract out pleeese?
I just canāt imagine Bobby playing elsewhere. He is so unique that itās really hard to see him fitting in to a different system.
I hope Bobby stays and gets the 100 goals for LFC. Also, he has an amazing goals to assists ratio:
98:74 for Liverpool
155:110 in career
Yeah, Bobby is more or less right where he should be (considering his unusual playing style) in terms of total numbers in his time here.
Goals have dropped a little bit, but itās still more or less 1 in 3.
Goals and assist, heās on 1 in 2.
In this team I was hoping heād regularly be on 15, but that difference is not the main thing for me with Bobby, as long as he keeps providing the things heās best at.
I want him lean and hungry again, cut out a few of those niggles he had lately and just give his all. You never know how Nunez settles from the start and Jotaās performances centrally. Bobby will still be a pretty important player for us next season, even if itās his last.
This is the contract I actually expected would be signed, Mane I was 50/50 and Salah I expected to go but this one I was always confident we would sign but who knows.
Jurgen Klopp on Firmino:
āBobby, for people with football knowledge, people will write books about the way he interpreted the No.9 position.ā
