@Livvy what is that advertisement you posted for?
Good looking chick.
A false 9 is not just about the positions in which you receive the ball, but the movements that get the player into that position. It can look like a 10 or advanced midfielder, but itās notably different in the patterns of play that result in him getting the ball in those positions.
Itās a lot like a goal scoring CM. Itās not just about finding the positions these players tend to score from, between the edge of the box and penalty spot, but the timing of getting into that position.
The deeper Bobby is forced to start the less effective he is.
Obviously hoping for the best for Bobby but would not at all be surprised if we donāt see him until Feb/Mar. Ominous words from The Boss, āSerious injuryā and āmore than 4 weeks then we will seeā.
Divock Origi wakes from his slumberā¦
All jokes aside, Iām guessing weāre likely to see Minamino feature more.
I hope none of our first choice front three appear in the CL again this year.
Fixed
If we let Porto and Milan beat us, that surely knocks out Atletico Madrid.
Would cost Ā£5m but I think itās worth it.
$10m discount on one of their player of our choice, the extra $5m because they get to next round.
surely thatād be a case for match fixing?
Yeah it would never be done. And how did this conversation get into the Bobby thread?
A goalscoring CM or any type of CM will spend more time facing the game (or on the half turn), especially for a protagonist side of whichever style, which we are. Bobby is best higher up than that line, either as a false 9 or single 10. If we put him as the most offensive 8 of the two, I think thatās already a zone too deep for his own then his teamās good. He plays mostly back to goal, not like a target man of course, but the way he can receive in any part of the pitch, turn and link our pieces in attacking phase⦠thatās where heās at his best.
bobby has near re-invented the false9 role. heās so good at it, and we will suffer when heās out for a month.
get well soon Bobby. enjoy some family time
All down to Atletico shithousery this, having to take Mane off and play Bobby.
If I never saw us play another shithoue Spanish team Iād be more than happy.
Back in training.
Welcome back, Bobby
Good to see him back. That relieves the pressure instantly on our front three and will help our game to gain more fluidity again going forward.
Bobby is back
Just realised that Bobby wasnāt selected for Brazil - hopefully comes back ready to go.
Reckon heās at risk of not making the Brazil squad for the World Cup, which will hopefully coincide with us seeing the best of Bobby.
