For now:

Heavy and ongoing critcisim is coming from everywhere inside Germany, including the other coaltion parties, media, the general public, even from some members of the SPD itself. I think I’ve made it clear where I stand personally on that issue. So all I would respectfully ask is not to confuse the country Germany or Germans with its chancellor.
Thread:
He’s the chairman of the foreign committee, SPD member.
He was in Ukraine with two the heads of the European committee and the defense committee, from the other two coalition parties. Scholz disrespectfully refers to them as ‘boys and girls’ now…just to give you an idea where the climate of the debate is atm.
I want to add this article, it explains some other positions as well.
Aside from the fact that the vast majority here are deeply dissatisfied and ashamed of this situation, I can’t add much more. I didn’t vote for him, but that doesn’t make it any better for Ukraine now.
I can only assume that even greater pressure is needed now, so that Scholz can’t help but move. But I’m not sure either, maybe his strategy is just to continue to sit it out.
RU is apparently trying to prevent people from leaving occupied territory
Not confusing individual Germans with the position taken by the state of Germany is one thing, but what the Chancellor does defines what Germany does. There isn’t really a confusion there.
I was trying to point out that his position is under heavy criticism from his own coalition parties, even high-ranking members of his own party, there’s heavy media criticism and numerous polling, like a majority supporting heavy weapon exports. I think that goes a little bit beyond just some individuals, but ok.
The dismissal and ridicule of high-ranking parliamentarians of his own coalition is especially poignant, as we live in a parliamentary system, Scholz is not directly elected by the people but by the Bundestag and could be replaced by them even without a snap election.
Mass production of cannon foder. They expect this to go on for a long time, now.
