A bit dated this now to tell the truth:
Expect much more of this in the future
Jesus, when I reported it, I told you all that salt was needed, but US now confirms it !
I woke up just to post this basically:
That’s two large transports each carrying up to 150 paras ???
Russia now has turned on EWAR. They seem angry. Assault tonight in Kyiv was repulsed. Internet going down in Kharkiv and parts of Kyiv now. My guess ? Russia will up the brutality a lot. So far they have a been a bit gloves on in terms of not shelling cities directly. They may start to bomb more urban targets now, and a bit more indiscriminately. Use more ballistic missiles too.
Or not. After all, I am not an oracle, just doing my best to try to understand the situation as best I can.
And now, back to bed.
Or rather, now back to bed. Always something new important update to post, sigh.
Mark Rubio the US senator tweeted that intelligence reports suggest that sometjing is ‘off’ about Putin. Pschotic break?
It sure seems like it. I’ve mentioned it before, this whole invasion makes 0 sense.
One of the biggest mistakes that the west have been making and are making is trying to paint Putin as a psychotic despot hell bent on world domination.
They need to keep channels of diplomacy open and compel Putin to withdraw his forces and stop this uncalled for invasion. Painting him as psychotic and deranged doesn’t help matters.
Neither does Macron making statements like this which can easily be countered.
Kiev will fall. It never stood any chance. I hope the Ukrainian leaders had the foresight and resolve to set-up an alternative/temporary capital/administrative center in the western part of the country.
Make no mistake, the real war for Ukraine will start at the fall of Kiev. That war must not be lost.
I hope that Ukraine can remain sovereign. It breaks my heart that such terrible things can happen in this day and age.
Absolute power corrupts, absolutely…
It’s not a foregone conclusion. Can you imagine common citizens picking up AK47s to defend their land. I had an uncomfortable thought last night, in the same situation would I stay and fight? The answer I was leaning towards was no and I’m not even a full on coward.
Whatever else, the Ukrainians have been brave as hell.
Near the zoo you say? Boris has got this…
Macron did apologise for Algeria.
More fake news that you choose to repeat.
Any more of this apologist bullshit and I’m putting you on ignore.
Incurable brain tumor.
He is, stop posting shite.
@Sithbare you earlier seemed to suggest that as much blame (I actually read it as more but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt!) Should be apportioned to the West as Putin which to me is an absolutely bonkers opinion.
The biggest mistake the West has made its not doing something sooner about Putin, and I’m talking in years not weeks.
In 1971 War of Independence the Bangladesh forces were mainly composed of ordinary citizens who fought guerilla war against Pakistan (gleefully supported by USA and China). Then there were the Bangladeshi soldiers in the Pakistan armed forces and Police who rebelled (right at the onset of the genocide on March 25) and fought for our independence.
In Vietnam and Afghanistan the resistance forces too were composed of ordinary people. Let’s not forget the partisan forces across Europe formed the bulwark of resistance against the Nazis.
That was in January. Your source ; " Macron, the first president born after the colonial period has gone further than any of his predecessors in recognising French crimes in Algeria.
Later Wednesday, a historian commissioned by the president with assessing “the progress made by France on the memory of the colonisation of Algeria and the Algerian war,” will submit his findings.
Benjamin Stora’s report is not, however, expected to recommend that France issue an apology but rather suggest ways of shedding light on one of the darker chapters of French history and propose ways of promoting healing."
This was in September ; "France’s President Emmanuel Macron has apologised to Algerians who fought alongside French colonial forces in Algeria’s war for independence and were then massacred and ostracised as traitors.
Around 200,000 Harkis – so the contingent was known – fought against their compatriots in the 1954-1962 conflict, and tens of thousands were killed after the French withdrawal.
Those who made it to France were placed in camps, and many were denied access to school and other rights.
“I ask your forgiveness,” Macron told them and their descendants during a speech at the Élysée Palace, in Paris, on Monday.
