So possibly encourage people to fight for Ukraine etc over an illegal occupation but turn a blind eye when people fight for Afghanistan or Iraq for the very same reasons ?..western logic is a joke at times

But by saying the government supports people who want to go, she is giving the green light for people to go - with the implication there is support from the UK. I think that is irresponsible as there will not be actual support - just best wishes, and good luck.

We either go in as a nation or continue to support as we are. This is just encouraging people to go to their deaths.

In any case a nation has a responsibility to itā€™s citizens, this is just saying you wonā€™t lose your rights if you do go. Nothing wrong or underhand with that.

If the Ukrainian stance was the the annihilation of Western culture and the UK nationals were supporting that, then you might have a point.
As it goes, should the UK nationals go theyā€™d be supporting a state defending itself against an aggressor. Theyā€™d also be going with the recorded blessing of a minister in HMā€™s government. I donā€™t recall Ms Begum getting such a blessing?

Not at all putting any blame on you, far from it , basically saying people should have protection from their government if they choose to fight in areas that are being occupied illegally/ through illegal occupation, Begum went to join a caliphate in areas that was created in Iraq and Syria ā€¦the British government stripped her of her citizenship for wanting to go to an area that was illegally occupied , and then had fallen to Isis hands who tried to create stated caliphate.
